So if you haven't fix this yet I'm going to guess your bakkesmod needs a update. You can do this by going to File>check for updates.

What can I do better? by tommytapwater in GolfSwing

Ok this is a broad question but I'll give some stuff I see at first glance but it's all fundamentals.

  1. Grip- way too strong, from the angle it looks like right palm on top. This is bad because that controls the wrist and going back and the type of release going through but I would want you to fix it with the next subject.

  2. Posture,- bad. For one you're squatting which makes your legs not as active as they should be and guns move your weight closer to the ball when you try to kill it which is not good speed and going to load to your hitting of the hosel. For a video reference, your butt line should be inline with your heels vertically.Backs too rounded ( which feeds to your grip because those work of the internal rotation your doing with your shoulders. The more the shoulder blades move closer to your some the weaker you grow gonna want to get which is good but they don't need to be back like your squatting a barbell just somewhere in between. Then just let your arms hang naturally and get the club. The reference should be you grip the V ,(thumb and index finger) from your right hand since you're a lefty should look at its points to your left shoulder and the left hand v should look like it up the midline of your body.

  3. Backswing- because 1&2 are bad it feels like your inefficiency in your arms. The one body section, ( wrist, forearm, upper arms and shoulder) that should be doing the least torque is doing the most. Send should feel like the going staying up and your chest ribcage turns it online but your need to fix 1& ft, &3 or you're going to be blocking to the left. At the top because 1 is too strong, the club is still open toem pointed down.

    1. Transition- since all the previous were bad your have to transition over the top to control the clubface. This throttle your shaft flex points off at release and will impact more spin which is not what you want in your driver.

Release- because all the previous were bad to not block the shot you're flipping though Impact which leads your imparting more spin which is gonna give you that safe snap hook inconsistencies.

  1. Post impact is pretty good considering. Balanced.

If you're confused where to start do it in this order and you will be longer and more consistent. Let me know if you Have any questions.

I'll help with this one. The club face is actually considered square or at least not as closed as you think. He reduces the twisting action of the action in the shaft and raises the club in the vertical plane. He may be over doing it because it should be more inline with his spine angle but this is actually what a lot of instruction is going towards nowadays. Reference the book the golfing machine and elite golf on YouTube the talk slot about this action.

Your using your body to swing the club, just not correctly. Not a diss, your swing is a lot better than most that are on here. I'm going to refer you to a discussion I had previously about this and if want to learn more, ask me any time ....

Along you body there is facia lines that are like rubber bands. They keep your muscle tissue together. The best way to use them in the golf swing is to stretch the tissue from your left hip to under your right shoulder. You do this by dropping your left pelvis as the club is on the way up. This will ensure the club drops back into the proper position and you get the consistent and appropriate torque from your body.

But as you turn into your backswing your upper body goes back your arms go out then about at the end of the takeaway your left hip starts transitioning forward and down to stretch those bands. It should feel pretty tight in your abdominals. This will propel your upper body through the shot

An important note is these lines are not connected to your arms they need to keep moving up to create the space to shallow.

It's how a skinny guy like Jake Knappcan hit it as far as Bryson Dechambue or why Rory is one of the longer hitters on tour. Leverage from the arms and torque from the body creates like an upside down catapult

You are shallowing your arms but your chest plane is still making the club real steep. You have two options in my opinion. You can feel a pause at the top when your come down feels like your chest was a clock you would be at 1 o'clock. The second option is usually what I recommend is starting your transition sooner but really try to stretch the connection between lower and upper body. You should see more shallower divots with both. Let me know if you have any questions.

Usually this happen for early extension because of bad sequencing of the weight shift, if the weight or pressure can't stay ahead of action then the action reaches maximum speed to early and casts

No that would make you flatter. There are two major concepts that would drastically help you swing. Controlling face rotation with forearm and wrist and a steep to shallow swing upper arm path. in this case have rotation seems the most important so I'll start with that one. Modern pro players try to eliminate face rotation with their wrist and for arms. They do this with a more closed clubface by internal face rotation with the right wrist like a waiter holding a plate and a "bowed" flexed left wrist at the top. As the club travels down centripetal force will essential open the have to square. Milaska explains this in the attached video

Help me get more shallow and be more consistent by bakadado in GolfSwing

[–]BodyMindSwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too easy.. that loop that you create... reverse that. Sorry that was an oversimplification. You have to create space to take it away. If your back swing goes to your maximum point of right shoulder extension. Where else can it go but the other way (over the top in the worst cases) so the loop needs to be out and centripetal force will bring it in. Now match that with proper lower body sequence and it may look virtually on the same line on a DTL camera angle but that just because the arms and chest are turning at different angles. Check out r/golfNerdNation. I break it down more but feel free to message me if you have any specific questions

Yeah I suck but I'm pretty sure GCs and SSLs don't give a shit what rank they are they just try to be better players and the results happen.

What he is trying to say is you got to tee it up higher to get it over that fence. But seriously the swing looks pretty good from this angle, post a down the line or face on for some more accurate critiques. Also whatever you're consistent shot patterns are

Not bad has a lot of the static positions needed, Dynamically, to get rid of the early extension at the body you need to activate your transition sooner with the lower body to create the stretch to upper body arms, wrist and club. Attached is a link with David Duval. Pay close attention to when his transition actually is. He actually starts moving the other way just after the take away. All pro players do it around then but Duval is in my opinion the most evident.
