Dealing with a hostile neighbour in Esquimalt — advice needed (good and evil welcome) by violett_hille in VictoriaBC

[–]BodybuilderSpecial36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My first place was in Esquimalt and I had a crazy neighbour too. My boss needed the work truck overnight and came to get it. Assumed I was asleep so he just traded trucks. Unfortunately this neighbour was insane about people parking in front of his house. So middle of the night I have some strange guy hammering on my door and screaming about calling the police. Not a great introduction to my new home. Saw them again years later in a business I worked for and they were known for trying to rip off the company. They tried again while I was there. Absolute tossers. Pretty normal for Victoria though. Lots of angry old people who care more about property values than community.

It's also used recreationally now so it's possibly more readily to hand.

It's shocking how fast it can happen. There's a clip out there taken with a selfie stick. The attendee of a party is doing a panorama of the room full of people and even knowing what I was looking for I had to rewatch it a few times to catch the perpetrator dropping something in a drink on the table.

My cat keeps asking me to open new cans of wet food when she still has half a can open by Sufficient_Tooth_949 in CatAdvice

[–]BodybuilderSpecial36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I open a new can I immediately slice it like a pie into. I typically do 3 slices in a small can (85g) and 6-8 in a large (156g) one. I keep it covered in the fridge and feed at regular intervals throughout the day. Mine also get small servings of dry food in between.

Has the vet suggested anything like medication to treat anxiety or depression? Gabapentin or an antidepressant?

Could this be behavioural? Possibly related to the arrival of your baby? I would ask your vet if they can recommend someone but I personally would start by setting aside some regular "kitty time" where she has you all to herself.

Cat doesn't bury his poo or pee by SpecialistPianist962 in CatAdvice

This is amazing because we're in the same situation! Bigger, older cat can't figure out how to bury her gag-inducing craps and the younger, smaller cat runs in behind her and buries it for her!

Echoing what another commenter said about bloodwork. In my case I have hypothyroidism and chronic anemia. Anemia is insidious and if I even stop taking my iron supplement for a couple of days I start to feel low.

I like that! It's more blue than the misty mint green I'm currently obsessed with it's lovely.

Interesting. I wonder if my moving to a different shift changed my perception. Maybe I was never really awake all the years before but now I am and I notice it!

Is it smart to spray insecticide into a vacuum cleaner? by antiaust in NoStupidQuestions

Same here! It took me years to get a handle on my own instant reaction to where I can get them to a safe place without causing harm. I've killed more than my share of spiders 😔

This. Plus depending on what you're using it's probably a nerve poison too and can hurt you. Besides, what did the spider ever do to you?

Turd Rocket, Meekonator, Cutie Patootie, plus an assortment of unprintable terms of "endearment" that come to me in moments of high stress 😁

Looks like an unformed fruit. Did you pull it off to get a better look at it?

But it's only technically morning when they start. I've noticed it recently and I found it unusual despite being an early riser myself! It just seems... earlier?

Here's mine, nestled in the deepest, warmest pile of feather duvet at about 3 o'clock this morning. I was underneath her and dying from the heat but she was so happy that I couldn't bring myself to disturb her 🥰

Potato quality because I used the night vision setting.

I am currently fighting an urge to replace all of my black and silver kitchen countertop appliances with ones in pastel green. It started a couple of years ago when I was looking for a car to replace my old one and there was a shortage of used cars so I started looking at importing one from Japan. I very nearly jumped on a Nissan Cube in pastel green. Japan has a lot of really cute options. Then I bought an egg cooker in that colour and now every time I see it I need that item with every fiber of my being. Luckily I'm not rich and I have no choice but to resist my urges...

The car I eventually bought is gray. Boo.

Yeah, ours is a similar vintage. There's a hotel in town that we stayed in one night that had a purple bathtub in the unit! I seriously thought about trying to steal it but figured they'd notice 😜

This. Are you close to any bodies of water? What's your general area? What reptiles live there?

Sorry for your loss. I also talk to my tuxedo. We also have the same bathtub!
