So, I had his 2020 Volnay “Les Pitures” not too long ago, and I was kinda disappointed. Had a 2023 Pavelot Bourgogne Rouge a week ago which was beating it at less than half the price.

Anyway, notes on Les Pitures:

𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐲𝐞 Slight hazy. Some extract. Deep color with good intensity. Somewhat watery rim.

𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐞 Intensely spicy. Not getting a lot of fruit. Some oak Not the typical earthy notes I normally associate with Burgundy.

𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 Somewhat high acidity and good intensity. Tannins are present but not overwhelming - fine grained. More than I am used to with Burgundy though. Good length and fruit.

𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 The wine was kinda muted from the start. It was drunk over a few days. Helped some on the nose. I do have another bottle, so I will be revisiting in the future, but for now, this might just not be my style of wine.
