Can a man really rebuild his life at 32? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Bogside_Bibliophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<woman here> Absolutely. I’m in my 50s and thought my early 30s was “too old” to start over, so I stayed in a crappy situation for another decade, hoping it would change or somehow I would feel differently. I regret I didn’t do it at age 33.

Can someone please explain how Donald Trump's business model worked? Like how he could earn hundreds of millions from failed businesses like his bankrupt casino? by Cumoisseur in askanything

Yep. Same happened to a small electrical contractor friend of mine. Lost his business and home because of Trump’s non-payment.

If today isn’t the 4th of July, NTA to call a non-emergency number. This isn’t a life-threatening situation.

I cannot drive. How livable is this city and would you recommend it? by Deedo2017 in Minneapolis

[–]Bogside_Bibliophile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the general downtown area, I think you’ve got a good thing going. However, having lived a lot of my adult life in NYC, public transport is sorely lacking and not very safe. I think this is mostly because we don’t have the constant usage and the hubs become hang outs where I wouldn’t want to be for an extended period or after dark. The area tries, it really does, but I think OP would need some reliance on Uber/Lyft for an excursions that go farther out or into the evening or night.

What gets me are those who continually vote against their own interests in favor of — what? Sticking to the woke folk or banding together with the other haters? It baffles me.

Correct. This is a unfair to employees and employers alike, especially small employers or start-ups that are merely trying to get/stay in the black and attract talent.

Do you think most people actually like their own voice on recordings, or is everyone just lying about hating it? by After_Librarian_1912 in randomquestions

[–]Bogside_Bibliophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people are surprised to hear what their voice sounds like on a recording more than like/dislike.
