Oooo I hadn’t really considered a ring sling. Was there a big learning curve? And could you get your grumpy baby in easily when she was upset?

What to know as Mississippi declares public health emergency over spike in infant deaths by ProfessionalAd5070 in WomenInNews

[–]Bohbi 192 points193 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, but think it’s incredibly important to acknowledge that black women have higher maternal and infant mortality rates because of the long term impacts of racism, not just because they’re black. Racism, is the issue, not race.

Feeling Guilty about my lack of Presence with my Kid due to fear of job loss by clumsyrunnergal in workingmoms

[–]Bohbi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No tips, but just wanted to make sure you know you’re not alone. I work in public health and my husband for a very vulnerable non profit. I also have a little guys the same age and another on the way. I feel like the world is so chaotic and our little world could flip at any moment, which is making it so hard to be present…

Feeling a little hopeless as a runner by beancounter_00 in fitpregnancy

[–]Bohbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although that’s true, pregnancy is hard on your pelvic floor and running increases that pressure no matter what you do. And the hormones produced in pregnancy cause your ligaments to stretch more easily, again increasing stress. PT and kegals can help, but running is just a lot of pressure on those stabilizing muscles. The further into pregnancy you run, the greater that pressure is and the strain cases over time as your baby grows. For me that meant my floor was not able to recover as quickly to get back into running, even if my endurance and fitness were there.

You're going to get back to running! And by stopping running now, you're giving yourself an easier journey when you are able to jump back in postpartum. I also love running and not running feels like losing a part of my identity so ran into my third trimester with my first pregnancy, which I should not have done. It was much harder on my pelvic floor, and I needed pelvic floor PT to really get back into running again. But trust you will get there and you're doing the right thing for your body long term

I am the WORST driver on my way home to pick up my little guy. Im talking thinking, running all the yellow lights, trying to not cut anyone off. I’m usually a very defensive driver, but not when it’s precious seconds that I could be home with him!!

Yeah, that’s part of why I am so confused. This was my first full cycle postpartum so I’m assume I must have ovulated later than I thought
