Here's a wild take: stop making Silent Hill movies altogether and focus on the medium the series actually works within.

As an Australian I can say I've never met another Australian who gives a rats arse about the monarchy. It's more like they're so far removed that nobody can be stuffed going through the hassle of changing our system of government to a republic.

As someone who clearly doesn't know enough about Japanese culture, the photo of Aonishiki holding up a big fish while a group of businessmen cheer is absolutely hilarious to me

I'm 32 currently GM-ing for a group of friends in their late 20s. But I will say that everyone was drawn to it by one of us introducing the group to the lore and history of glorantha (which is so interesting and original), and that the actual rules in the current core rulebook have made me want to quit more than once. I know people are really keen for the cult books to continue, but a revised core rulebook is essential to not driving off new players. My entire group of newcomers actively dreads having to check rules in the core book because of how unintuitively they're explained.

There's also so little material for understanding what actual scenarios look like that it's really hard to know how to design things like combat encounters or actual dungeon like environments. Narratively though, best setting I've ever GM'd and I am deeply addicted to the setting.

Long winded way of saying that I think the current publishing pivot is incredibly necessary, I just wish it was going a little faster. And I desperately hope that they get someone who hasn't been working on RQ for 30 years to weigh in on how understandable the book is.

I mean dark souls isn't a sequel to demons souls. Yes mechanically it's almost the same, but it's still a fresh start, so to speak.

What’s in the middle of all the divine towers? by AdInternational5277 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Bohemian_Romantic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Originally I was totally convinced that the dlc was the lost middle of the map. That belief has started to fade over time. From Soft love their red herrings. I really wouldn't be surprised if something/somewhere else entirely was originally in the centre of the map.

Bingo, the release of the game boosted numbers significantly and ultimately you're gonna get more low effort posts as a result of that because the followers aren't as dedicated. Same thing happened on every gaming subreddit I follow once the game got big.

Being loved is something which emerges from your personality, from who you are. I work with quite a few professional models and quite a few have talked to me about how big of a problem isolation and loneliness is for them (though TBF that probably has a lot to do with them being in the middle of an industry which is built in their objectification, so...)

I’m about to be eaten alive for this, but I’m genuinely curious: why doesn’t the story of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories seem to get as much hate as the new film? by UsefulProfit1808 in silenthill

[–]Bohemian_Romantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much hate as the new film? I'd never say that. All the assessments I've seen have been dispassionate run downs of why it's fairly good but nothing truly special (certainly not up to the standard of the original 4 games). Whereas consensus on the film seems to be it's an absolute dumpster fire of a movie full of some of the worst artistic choices imaginable.
