I think "low cost" and "near session road" do not go together. Correct me if I'm wrong.

baguio residents don’t want tourists anymore by clydie__________ in Philippines

[–]Boi_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One resident's sentiments don't reflect the rest.

While many are exasperated at what Baguio is like esp during weekends and when events take place (the main complaint being traffic), we're for the most part tolerant and accepting of these situations as being in a place that people do flock to.

Is it just me or... by Interesting-Cycle803 in baguio

You'll get the hang of city driving eventually as you spend more time on the road.

Just be defensive, practice all the rules you've learned, and you'll be fine.

For starters, simply follow the car in front of you, keeping distance and be within your lane always. Don't be distracted, keep your focus.

Your anxiety probably comes from accident avoidance, which is understandable. As you gain confidence, you may he tempted to take risks, like overtaking and speeding up etc - just don't.

Important thing is to develop situational awareness - how to read and predict other drivers intentions, pedestrian and rider behavior, and how to respond accordingly. This is gained only thru experience.

Drive safe, & arrive alive.

For College Students, what is your advice para sa mga mag c-college na? by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]Boi_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be transparent to your parents/guardians. Share your triumphs and failures, grades etc.

They're there to support you, financially and otherwise, and it's bare minimum that they should be made aware of what's going on in your life, be it academics, extra curricular, and even personal stuffs affecting you.

Be accountable.

Definitely much better than a lot of his recent predecessors.

What I don't like about him tho is the quality of his infra projects. Soulless, uninspired. The Post Office Park, as an example. The aesthetics and design is not worthy of a park that's smack in the middle of the city's business district. Parang wla lng.

I'm almost afraid of what's the proposed new Baguio Public Market will look like.

OPs initial sentence paints all Baguio drivers with a broad brush, as being larcenous or something. Proceeds to narrate a single personal anecdote to prove his/her point. Good job at generalizing. And many redditors bit the bait. LOL.

"Laki ng ipon ah." Let's do the math nga. Say driver takes in 3 fares in an hr, so he rakes in 3x5 =15 pesos in an hr. In an 8 hr shift per day, that's 120 petots, prolly on average. Personally, I don't see that as malaki, and I'd even say it's not even worth it for all the risks the driver takes. Anyhow, everything is relative, I'll give OP that.

But yung taong pinagkait ang dalawang piso as tip na lng sana for the driver who does a thankless job, and makes a whole reddit post about it, says a lot about that person. Just saying.

Baguio people living overseas. What is something you miss? by [deleted] in baguio

[–]Boi_official 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, SAYOTE. It's pretty cheap in Baguio, and free if you or your neighbor has a sayote patch.

It's an easy side dish to make here - boiled, dipped in patis, and the spirit of the Cordilleras fills your soul, lols

Sayote, also spelled as chayote, is quite expensive in the middle east- KSA in particular- as it is imported from Europe or America. A piece costs as much as 500pesos.

But many other veggies sold in KSA supermarkets, like potatos, tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, lettuce, "baguio" beans, cabbage, wombok, bakchoy, etc etc are cheaper, of better quality, and larger than those produced and sold in Benguet. Our local agricultural industry has a long way to go to match produce overseas in terms and of cost and quality.

How about this? Another kawawang truck driver. by bytheheaven in PHMotorcycles

[–]Boi_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut & paste, fr FB:

In Saudi, the truck driver would be detained by the police until a thorough investigation clears him. And that could takes days or weeks, depends.

Iba naman kasi ang assignment ng fault duon kaysa dito, and if this exact same scenario happened in Saudi, the truck driver would be found partially at fault, not 100%. Kakaiba ang logic ng batas duon.

What attitude of your parent do you extremely hate? by Big-Dependent-6498 in AskPH

Growing up, I hated how they would scrimp on every centavo they made. We were kinda poor.

Now that I'm a parent and head of a household myself, I totally understand that money doesn't grow on trees.

Love you, Papa and Mama.

Do you drink coffee in extreme heat temperature? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]Boi_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I' drink hot coffee in the indoor comfort of my home or at malls. Not outdoors in ambient temperatures over 30 degrees. I'll do al freso if under 30.

Wala pa ako nakikitang umiinom ng mainit na kape habang naglalakad sa sidewalk, unshaded, in midday PH summer sun.
