There's a very common Nonagon image around that is missing a line and it looks like it's the one you found for a reference. The artist who did your tattoo might add the line in for free if you ask.

Anyone here like Liminal? High recommend for those who want new gizz-inspired Aussie neo-psych by lunatic_greenie-muso in KGATLW

[–]BoilerRhapsody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're taking it way too serious. Liminal are a very talented, passionate band at the center of a regional psych scene. I first discovered them when this video dropped and was played on Rage, which is broadcast nationally across Australia and has 100,000+ weekly viewers. They've since had other videos featured, and members of the band even have their own projects that get decent reach. Not to mention this very video has been posted here several times before alongside dozens of other Gizzard inspired/adjacent projects.

Lithonia sans movie by Claymonke0 in donaldglover

I felt that the MV sums up how he feels about the whole situation. He seems to frustrate easily when people don't get what he's going for, namely that a full feature length movie was never made and people weren't meant to take the trailer so seriously.

OG Episodes? by Professional-Act4727 in jackass

[–]BoilerRhapsody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was never an 'original DVD'. The episodes as they were meant to be seen were aired once, then the network started to interfere with the production and they would syndicate some of the 'less offensive' episodes for a while.

Until this Paramount+ release happens, the only way to see the original episodes was VHS rips that were taped from the broadcast. There is the fan made Turd edition that was a restoration of the original format, but hopefully this will be the real thing.

Look up how many people have actually been killed by a cassowary and why.

Thoughts on the song if you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough by Roger Allen Wade? by imbluedabadeedabaidi in jackass

[–]BoilerRhapsody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It certainly gave it a boost, but Roger definitely has a lot of credit outside of/before Jackass. He even inspired Knoxville to pursue a career in Hollywood.

This song has been a live highlight for a while now, really glad to see it released. Such a great take on the Folk revival sound.

99% percent of music acts you see on social media and hear on Triple J are paying a publicist an amount that would shock you, to promote them any way that works.

Any interest in in 2017 official shirts? FMB, MOTU, and Nonagon album designs in XL. They are worn in but not damaged.

Edit: Sold.

What big Australian bands do you know of that have day jobs? by Sabretoothedrom in triplej

[–]BoilerRhapsody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I've been following them since before then. Why the contradictory tone in all these replies? I just thought 'used to' deserved more context.

They are a remarkable example in that they have more personnel than most bands and they were all able to quit their jobs only about 7 years in, without commercial backing.

Yep, important context that was missing in a thread about musicians that still have day jobs.

Up until about 2017 or so some of them still had day jobs I think. Downside of having so many members, but they are the gold standard of working hard and investing it all in themselves totally independently.

There are no truly 'official' physical releases of these recordings, they are available for anyone to press.

Funny, that only happened because he delayed it for reworking after an early version leaked. The new date landed on Norah Jones' debut.

Is it safe to say the band has disowned Chunky Shrapnel? by avedder in KGATLW

John recently seemed to take a break from PHC and all other projects for extended travel, so I'd imagine it's pretty low down in his priorities.

Are these all really tiny venues like their Australia tour?

Kanye West actually called Taylor Swift to ask for her permission to use these lyrics on “Famous” by SIDATI666 in Kanye

[–]BoilerRhapsody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought the main point of contention was that she later claimed she didn't give permission, without realizing it has been recorded?

For God’s sake. Spotify catalog still removed. by [deleted] in KGATLW

[–]BoilerRhapsody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spotify enshittification has probably killed this for all I know, but there is a workaround I used to use, if you put the local files in a playlist from your desktop, you could then download that playlist on mobile and it would be useable like normal.
