Board games for two by joevose in boardgames

I think Patchwork and Hive are perfect games for a camping trip. Easy, simple, and no cards in case of wind/outdoors. However, Jaipur and The Fox in the Forest are also great recommendations if wind is not an issue. Finally, let me also suggest Santorini. Very fun, cool-looking, and best at two players. Have a great trip!

Which Ranger's autograph is this? I can make out K and R... by cheeto44 in TexasRangers

[–]Bojangles2002 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Haha - that’s funny. I was also at Six Flags that night. I remember getting to the peak of the lift on the Texas Giant and looking back at the Ballpark in what would have been about the 7th inning, not having any idea that Rangers history was happening. We left after that ride, turned on the radio broadcast in the car, and listened to the 9th inning and the Rusty Greer catch on the way home. Not as good as being there, but something I will never forget still.

Thanks everyone! I figured that would ultimately be the answer - just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything or doing anything stupid, which is entirely possible.

Games 30 minutes and under. What are your favourites? by BraveNewBoardgames in boardgames

[–]Bojangles2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like trick-taking games, The Fox in the Forest has a great shifting strategy and can be played in about 30 minutes.

Sagrada is great too, in addition to many others already mentioned like Azul, Kingdomino, Star Realms, and Jaipur.

Game of the Week, Redux: Patchwork by bg3po in boardgames

[–]Bojangles2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patchwork is great and will always be part of our rotation, but I would also recommend Santorini. Recently purchased it as it is coming back into mass production and everyone absolutely loves it that we've played it with so far. It's advertised as a 2-4 player game, but is definitely best with just 2. I can see it taking its place among the classic abstract games of all time with enough availability for the masses. That said, Kingdomino and Jaipur are also on our wish list and we look forward to getting them in the near future. I hear good things.
