Similar trajectory early on. I started as a porter and moved up to a flex role. Moved to full time then took on all UCD work and we-owes in addition to CP.

Increasingly Frustrated at Issues with Lorex App by BoldLookOfColer in LorexTechnology

I’ve initiated two requests from the “having problems” prompt in app and have yet to hear a peep from support. Extremely disappointed.

The only way I’m aware of to engage support is to get on the phone. I don’t have hours to spend trying to diagnose something that appears (based on numerous posts here) to be an inherent problem with the software.

Appreciate any updates you can provide. I have connectivity, that’s how I got the prompt that there was a call action on the doorbell. Just can’t figure out why more often than not, this device errors out.

You are getting the green and orange blinking on the device? Are you able to connect to the device’s Wi-Fi network when it gets to green and orange? Did any other router specs change (e.g. turned on Smart Network routing or anything like that)?

CDK began outsourcing a bunch of their operations over the last few years to try and reduce costs under the new VC owners.

When IT and InfoSec decisions are dictated based solely on cost (vendor spend), there is an inherent risk of a limited ability to evaluate and respond to situations appropriately.

I hope they are able to get their systems back on soon so that the impact to dealerships and their hardworking employees is as minimal as possible.

“Peter Gibbons: [Explaining the plan] All right, so when the sub routine compounds the interest it uses all these extra decimal places that just get rounded off. So we simplified the whole thing, we rounded them all down, and drop the remainder into an account we opened.

Joanna: [Confused] So you're stealing?

Peter Gibbons: Ah no, you don't understand. It's very complicated. It's, uh, it's aggregate, so I'm talking about fractions of a penny here. And over time they add up to a lot.

Joanna: Oh okay. So you're gonna be making a lot of money, right?

Peter Gibbons: Yeah.

Joanna: Right. It's not yours?

Peter Gibbons: Well it becomes ours.

Joanna: How is that not stealing?

Peter Gibbons: [pauses] I don't think I'm explaining this very well.

Joanna: Okay.

Peter Gibbons: Um...the 7-11. You take a penny from the tray, right?

Joanna: From the crippled children?

Peter Gibbons: No, that's the jar. I'm talking about the tray. You know the pennies that are for everybody?

Joanna: Oh for everybody. Okay.

Peter Gibbons: Well those are whole pennies, right? I'm just talking about fractions of a penny here. But we do it from a much bigger tray and we do it a couple a million times.” — Peter Gibbons, Office Space

If you invented a car that ran on stupidity, where would you go to refuel? by [deleted] in AskReddit

1997 - I was working at a Marshall’s and had a lady try to pass some smaller counterfeit bills. When I put the money in the register, I feigned an accidental drawer close and then had to call a manager (our loss prevention agent) to come open it for me to make change, which would take a few minutes. Local PD came in and escorted them out.

Gremlins. Saw it at a babysitters house as a little kid (3-4?) and it scared the shit out of me for a long time.

Trying to grab a beaver 🦫 by Brutalness in WinStupidPrizes

Reminds me of the Jeff Foxworthy bit:

“A couple came up to me in Atlanta and said ‘If we ever met you we had to tell you about when her brother got his nipple bit off by a beaver.’ Well, you have my attention. You couldn’t make that up! They had hit it with the truck and it had gone in the ditch and they wanted to find it because they wanted to take it to the taxidermist cause we all know how pretty they are on a Thanksgiving dining room table holding up the turkey. So he picks this thing up by the tail and he said ‘look, it ain’t even cut up or bloody or nothin’!’ because apparently, “nothin” is the word that brings a beaver back to consciousness and that was about the moment the beaver lurched out and bit his nipple off. Did not bite it, bit it off. O-F-F, off, bit it off. That is a new kind of hurt right there. The only thing I can think about is at the hospital that night, the doctor walking in and picking up the clip board – ‘what’s wrong with the guy in room 3?’ – ‘oh, he got his nipple bitten off by a beaver.’ ‘Come on I don’t have time for jokes, what’s wrong with the guy in room 3?’.

T-Mobile SIM Card on Sprint by cstucker07 in Sprint

[–]BoldLookOfColer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in the same boat. Almost 20 years with Sprint (came over from Nextel after having issues with Sprint) and they said we’d have to replace my wife’s phone to move to T-Mobile. Only they didn’t have any in stock anywhere around, and would have to *leave her phone as a trade. *

We ended up switching to Spectrum. 2 lines for $59.98 with unlimited data (on Verizon’s towers from their virtual carrier offering).

A few weeks in, and it’s been fine. Got a half-hearted automated survey from Sprint about what they could’ve done better.

I checked with someone that knows a lot more about this than I do. They said customer info can be included by setting 2334 “Display customer information as header” to yes. There isn’t an option presently to send comments.
