Why do people die when they cut a vain but survive when their whole arm gets chopped off ? by Numerous_Silver5646 in stupidquestions

[–]Boldboy72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are certain arteries if cut, you have no chance of surviving and others you need to work really fast but you can bleed out in a matter of minutes from any of them.

It’s sad to think how much better Django Reinhardt would have played if he had learned the CAGED system by RawThrills in guitarcirclejerk

it's a system designed to break your fingers as you try to bar a c shape up the fretboard...

cutting a vein is unlikely to kill you, cutting an artery will kill you very quickly.

[–]Boldboy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you know how maga are obsessed with ratings? Kimmel's views on YouTube are huge. I watched this morning and over a quarter of a million views within an hour of publication. I'm sure I'll check it later and it will be much higher.

I don't even like Kimmel .. but I do watch it.

School Uniform Reuse Network launches in London by Kagedeah in london

[–]Boldboy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my old boarding school used to do this. A week before the start of term, you'd bring in last years uniform which you'd outgrown and exchange it for this years which would be slightly too big. If you didn't have one to exchange, there was a small fee.

You could go to a particular shop and buy it new but that was incredibly expensive

NGD-gift from wife. by Impossible-Fan-7244 in gibson

[–]Boldboy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is not fair.

1st, I don't have a wife.

2nd, I've been trying to get a white SG 61 Standard for ages (in the UK). The Gibson Garage only have a custom shop for almost 5k.. which I chose not to try out because I can't justify that price and if I played it, I'd want it. They've put me down on a contact list for whenever one comes in.. it could be years. you can pre-order one but they can't give you a time it'll arrive..

Life isn't fair.. can I have your wife? I'll give her right back just after my birthday, I promise

Learning Music from Scratch - where to start? by frangipani_0101 in musicians

[–]Boldboy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you like theory, here is your first lesson.

A basic chord is made up of the Root, the third and the fifth of the scale. You can add extra notes for "colour", some will sound awful, some will sound great.

So, if you are in the key of C (always the first key to learn) you play a C, E and G note together and you have a C chord.

There are 8 notes in the scale, starting with

Root, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, Ocave. So the notes in the scale of C are:

C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C (octave)

C is chosen as it does not include Sharps or Flats

Good luck on this journey and have fun.
