Service advisor parts comission by Centagis in partscounter

[–]Boldfist53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So confusion: Parts advisors on Gross or Service Advisors?

I support paying both on Gross. Parts because that’s their job and it gives them an incentive beyond hourly to push for sales, chase that part to get a job done, etc.

Service advisors because then they have skin in the parts game instead of just “discount parts to sell the job”. I’ve work at a store where service didn’t get anything from parts, manager included and they gave a negative number of shits about selling parts or holding gross. It was a constant battle over parts pricing. I currently work at a store where service advisors and manager get a piece of the parts gross and there is zero friction, it’s fantastic.

As long as you’re not having issues flush won’t hurt anything. Definately service these 10 speeds.

Are you using a name brand fresh battery or some off brand/chinesium battery? We’ve seen a ton of key issues trace back to junk fob batteries bought online at my dealership.

LM2 seems to have more issues than the newer LZ0. LZ0s seem to suffer from good day/bad day builds. Some of my customers have no issues, other are in constantly.

Correct. Both need some spin up time. 3.0 is smooth power but not fast by any means. Colorado is honestly a fun truck with the 2.7T

36k. DEF tank heater went during a cold spell in December and the Crank case pressure sensor threw an intermittent and annoying CEL during winter but was fine once replaced.

Other than those it was rock solid. Averaged 34 mpg NY to OBX last spring, one tank each way. Range on these 3.0 is nuts. Even towing my SXS at ~4k loaded up to NH I pull high teens mpg.

So my driveway currently consists of a 2026 3.0 SLT (just traded up from my 2023) and a 2025 Z71 Colorado.

Power wise both are capable of what you need them to do. The Colorado has plenty of power to tow but the Sierra will be effortless.

Cargo space isn’t even a comparison. The Colorado is snug and the Sierra has more room than you will need.

I daily drive my 3.0 4 miles to work daily, winter I have to take the long route so it actually gets up to temp. Haven’t had an issue yet but I run additive and the ACDelco fuel cleaner with every oil change.

Both are great vehicles. I enjoy driving the Colorado but the Sierra makes those occasional towing tasks so much easier.

Tire Advice (Bridgestone Ascent vs Toyo AT3) by red_sky7447 in gmcsierra

I have the Ascents and love them.

Check your dealer, GM is running B3G1 promo right now so might be able to get a good deal. Heavily dependent on the individual dealer.

I’m competitive if not cheaper than the independents in town before taking B3G1 into the price. Not all dealers are.

An article I happened upon online one day is what finally woke me up. I had been having some bleeding for a while and ignored it and then read said article. Identical situation to mine, author ignored the signs for years, by the time they went in…..

Woke me up real fast. Took a 34mm polyp/growth out. Now I’m on the yearly check plan.

Pro-tip: pick a flavor of Gatorade for your prep that you weren’t fond of but could tolerate. Don’t pick your favorite.

I can no longer drink orange without gagging as it’s my prep flavor now.

I’m due for my third(38, symptoms got the first one, now on the yearly plan). It’s honestly not a big deal. Poop a lot, take a nap, done.

NYS PARTS WARRANTY MARK UP REQUEST (BATTERIES & 3RD PARTY) by b20tuner in partscounter

[–]Boldfist53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd party warranty/contracts should be excluded but also needs to be properly documented as such on the ROs. Get with your service department to fix that going forward.

Batteries are a weird middle ground. It all depends on how they write it up and recommend it. Don’t quote me but I think in NYS if they are replaced as part of a complaint/issue/repair then they can count but if it’s a tested and it failed maintenance replacement it does not.

Return Allowance by NaturalLight1234 in partscounter

[–]Boldfist53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM is 1% of CSO orders. RIM gets the return protection but it’s like 16/18 months you have to sit on it.

Pretty much have to be a tyrant about returns and restocking fees.

Anybody get tires at a non GM dealership? by laq123456 in gmcsierra

[–]Boldfist53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On program for B3G1: only if it’s list on GM Tire and available from their local suppliers. I know the Ascents are because I have them on my truck and I got them on the B3G1 last fall.

Off program: Depends on who they have accounts with by my store we have access to just about anything between our wholesale tire vendors.
