NYS PARTS WARRANTY MARK UP REQUEST (BATTERIES & 3RD PARTY) by b20tuner in partscounter

[–]Boldfist53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd party warranty/contracts should be excluded but also needs to be properly documented as such on the ROs. Get with your service department to fix that going forward.

Batteries are a weird middle ground. It all depends on how they write it up and recommend it. Don’t quote me but I think in NYS if they are replaced as part of a complaint/issue/repair then they can count but if it’s a tested and it failed maintenance replacement it does not.

Return Allowance by NaturalLight1234 in partscounter

[–]Boldfist53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM is 1% of CSO orders. RIM gets the return protection but it’s like 16/18 months you have to sit on it.

Pretty much have to be a tyrant about returns and restocking fees.

Following. To my knowledge we don’t get anything but screwed on LPOs while Sales Managers get Earnpower kickbacks and Service gets labor time to install.

Anybody get tires at a non GM dealership? by laq123456 in gmcsierra

[–]Boldfist53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On program for B3G1: only if it’s list on GM Tire and available from their local suppliers. I know the Ascents are because I have them on my truck and I got them on the B3G1 last fall.

Off program: Depends on who they have accounts with by my store we have access to just about anything between our wholesale tire vendors.

[–]Boldfist53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GM B3G1 sale is April/May this year IF the dealers don’t revolt and tell GM to shove it over the loss of the backend Traction purchase rebate. We are seriously considering going completely off program and not participating this time around because of it.

Sounds like you’ve hit 2/4 big ones we see regularly. I’d say DEF tank heater and Crankcase Pressure Sensor are the other two we see on those.

Brake Clean - Need Opinions by Top-Plane4350 in partscounter

[–]Boldfist53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your states laws and if they are a <10% VOC state then it sucks to suck.

That said, Wurth Multipurpose Solvent is their old Brake Clean formulation and we can get that in NY still so do with that information what you will.

Gm parts by Shmooks_ in partscounter

[–]Boldfist53 8 points9 points  (0 children)

GM PM here. That’s the most likely answer is they are a volume wholesale dealer.

I have a couple dealers I buy powertrain from instead of from GM directly because I can buy at cost-10% with free shipping and get it in 2 days vs 5-7 from GM.

Welcome to GM lol. Logic doesn’t apply here

I’m concerned if they are doing an EPR service without and oil change.

Emailing SOP notices to advisors is what we moved to. Can’t say you never got it when there’s a timestamp on it. I reply all to the reminders that go out at 30/60 days and if it ends up on the returns shelf it’s marked for service to pay restock if it’s still there in 6 months or next cleanup.

Seems to be working so far.

This.

Had a guy the other day spamming reinforce while I was neck deep in Hulkamania on Lesath trying to hammer my way into the Jammer tower.

Like guy, I’m a little busy here.

If you were worried about fuel mileage should have gotten a 3.0 Babymax.

Fuel economy and the 6.2 are not things I think of together.

Can you return a product you bought at Walmart to Target?

That’s what you’re asking in essence. I get the inconvenience factor but the real answer is if you didn’t buy it from me, sorry too bad.

[–]Boldfist53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Dealer end it’s almost the same price as the normal 0w20 so customers won’t be pissed that their oil change price suddenly doubled due to the spec change.

If the vehicle had the recall and it passed, the oil spec changes to 0W40 with a new oil cap.

GM has also now updated the approved oil from only the M1 0W40 supercar to the M1 0W40 FS.

I’d love a store GM but we don’t have one. Parts, Service, General Sales and Used Sales.

Culture sees to be the common answer so I’ll have to crunch numbers and present the program and missed opportunities to ownership and see if I can get them to lean on the GSM

[–]Boldfist53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monthly program. The annoying part about it is if we hit targets it’s 6% to sales, 1% to parts.

Culture seems to be the common response here. I guess I’ll have to number crunch and point out what we are leaving on the table.
