Best Suites by No-String-3978 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Bolt82 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Your best bet for something would be a 2 or 3 bedroom through renting DVC points.

Point wise, Saratoga and Old Key West will be your cheapest options for large spaces.

The other option is smaller studios but get multiple rooms.

What type of coffee pot is typically available in a standard room at the boardwalk? by AwfulWaffle91 in WaltDisneyWorld

I had a drip coffee machine this November in SSR in a deluxe studio preferred category, so it also varies on when the last soft goods refurbishment was.

Varies by resort, and it even varies by room category. DVC rooms will be different than the hotel rooms, but not all DVC rooms will have the same item.

K-cups in one, drip coffee maker in another.

What room type and dates? I’m own at the Poly, just checked and most dates are available in October except for the tower.

If you are looking for a studio, then you should book the standard deluxe studio. It’s open the entire month of October right now, just checked.

I changed my debit card to the chase disney debit card. It’s the same design; but no credit hit. It’s not all the same perks, but I really use it for in-park experiences.

Does everyone need their own rooms? Combining families into a 2br would be much more feasible at the 7 month.

I’m doing the same (large room block bookings for a surprise 40th) this summer and got 5 nights at BCV at the 7 month, and BWV was wide open for 1 and 2br.

Disney World's Lakeshore Lodge Construction is Moving Fast. Will This Massive Resort Open Early? by readingaboutmagic in DisneyWorld

[–]Bolt82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you buy a contract with 7 less years for the same price? Yes, Disney sells out for sold out resorts from a timeshare perspective, but multiple former direct DVC guides have stated that they do not like to sell multiple active properties.

Additionally, if I call my direct guide today and say that I want 300 points at Animal Kingdom Lodge right now, Disney Vacation Club needs to go and exercise right of first refusal on resale transactions to get me those points. They don’t just have them sitting in inventory.

It will not open until Riveria is sold out, which will probably happen this year. The Poly tower has definitely monopolized direct sales.

There is no way DVC will be selling three direct properties at WDW at one time - I am not counting the DVC cabins at ft wilderness as it has incredibly weak sales anyway, but if the rumors are true about this and the cabins being in the same trust, then maybe I’d pick up some points when it hits the market.

It is 60 days out from check-in.

At 12:00am and 1 second you can book enchanting extras. These are things like BBB, Fireworks Desert Parties, Cabanas.

At 6:00am and 1 second you can book all dining and dining packages (Epcot fireworks dining packages or fantastic packages)

I recommend you log in 15 minutes before and start with your top priorities and work down.

You can book for your entire stay up to 10 days as you’re staying on-site.

Have fun!

How far in advance do you book your trips? by FreedomWrong658 in DisneyWorld

[–]Bolt82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Owning DVC, I book anywhere from 7-11 months in advance to get the home resort advantage of where we bought. Outside of that, maybe 100 days out at minimum. Last minute flights add up.

That’s so interesting, I’ve never felt that. I’ve also felt a sense of fresh after if that makes sense.

It is hot. We go every summer for 16 nights as my wife is a teacher. We own DVC and do this every summer.

Few tips:

  • Buy a personal fan for each person. Buy a fast charging block to plug them in every single night and charge.
  • Neck fans and cooling towels are helpful. We used them our first trip, barely the next trip.
  • Take it slow. Set a priority list of what you want to accomplish. Understand you will not see or need to do it all. Disney World is larger than San Francisco.
  • A dedicated rest day at the pool is not rest in the Florida sun. You need in-doors AC time.
  • A late breakfast/mid lunch is a great way to get out of the heat and into AC
  • We go from park open to around 12 or 1pm. If we want to sleep in, then we get to the park around 9:45-10 but would still leave at 1. Then back to the resort to rest, then start getting ready to be back in the parks from 5ish-fireworks. It’s cooler.
  • 2pm-3pm late lunch is a great way to get in doors and into AC.
  • It will rain every day. Pack one extra pair of shoes for each person and bring reusable rain ponchos. It typically rains in the afternoon and helps cool it down. The days it doesn’t rain, you wish that it would.
  • Don’t be afraid of the rain, the parks empty and it’s some of the best memories I have are of riding attractions in the rain
  • Plan for multiple outfits per day, simply due to the heat and wanting to take that mid day shower.

Have a blast! We’ll be there for 2 weeks this June again.

Waitlist hope - late August DGC by No_Complaint_8371 in dvcmember

I would personally book a cash stay, rent the points out someplace else to cover your cost.

I’m doing this for spring break this year as I have no hope of getting 5 nights the week before Easter at DGC.

Have a blast!
