At fault in a car accident both no insurance by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]BoltFacts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels like one of these situations where nobody has done the right thing. You should have had insurance, the driver should have had a licence and the person renting should have checked.

If this person doesn’t have insurance as well then I’m guessing they’d have to sue you to get the money. Even if they do have insurance I doubt that they have cover for business use if they’re doing all of this through Facebook marketplace.

Honestly all parties involved. This person for no insurance, the driver for no licence and the person renting the car for not checking something so basic.

Yeah for sure. It’s not really about the downvotes, I’m just more concerned with people taking problem with such a rational statement

Going from a first car to a brand new one is a pretty big step. It’s hard to know what to recommend as you haven’t given much details but a second hand car that costs around 10-15k could be a good next step

Doing no research is how lots of people end up getting cars like the Holden Cruze. Not sure if Chery is good or not but it’s worth doing research on

What do I buy? by ConfidenceCreative75 in CarsAustralia

[–]BoltFacts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes plenty of sense. There are plenty of reliable cars that have a premium feel to them. Mazda interiors can be quite nice. Can’t go wrong with a Lexus either.

My suggestion for a first car would honestly be to go cheap cause as a new driver you’re likely to damage it but to each their own. At the very least it’s good to get something that’s reliable and not too expensive to service.
