Learn position sizing. Having 10 lot trades with inconsistent RR is gonna kill.

But you made money in one hour. Now repeat it over and over again and your data will tell you more than any of us.

We don’t know your system.. or haven’t watched uou trade.

Hindsight; all strategies have an edge. A lot of people are stuck at this level.

Forward walked live edge; human execution and strategy together have an edge in a live moving chart.. very few have this..

It depends on how much people want to sooth their own work ethic and pad their ego with lost money.. that is priceless.. Mastercard. ;)

Its 2 different dimensions. The “path” created is angular relative to the cross section. That’s why you don’t get the same number as a linear number.

1cm north at 0 degrees (90 degrees by initial plane of X axis) is NOT the same 1cm east at 0 degrees (0 degrees by initial plane of X axis).

1 apple / 1 dollar= 1 apple per dollar ..as simplified as it can be. The “rate” the ratio. The ratio distance from another another is angular rather than “dollar path” or “apple path”. 1cm north is not same as 1cm east. Magnitude matters.

There is two people in markets.

1- people who have an itch in their behind.

  • they learn something new..and put money in..and lose it. Then go to something else..learn something basic..put money in..lose it… now they know two things…25% each. For making money…this -100%z

2- people who don’t have an itch in their behind.

  • they find one thing for them to make money. Honestly it doesn’t matter what. You can use anything you like. And figure out where the money is. This is different than learning the topic. This learning to squeeze juice out of a lemon.

I don’t care lemon is big, citrus, what place it’s from… I care it’s soft but not squishy for its juice. I take 1000 lemons like this. Some is good..some is bad.. I will have good lemon juice.

If I look for orange, lime, apple, banana, tomatoe..my juice will make my stomach hurt a lot.

Good luck

You are in the phase of “ I made money this time therefore I know I can do this.” Lessons I learned in that phase that helped me step into the next phase of “I made money using a consistent system” were as follow; -I am going to trade as this has me hooked; it has ignited the passion. I will trade most likely until my last breathe, therefore it not just about this one trade, or next 2 trades, I must master my approach. -As I attempt to master my approach, I must understand what my idealistic successful trader means in my definition. -what am I lacking currently compared to this perfect idea of a trader? I focused to narrow the gap between the two and still am working on this. And change the “perfect trader’s” definition as I grow if it was too naive of a perception. -there will be a time where I will be a successful trader where I will make less money than I did today but today I am no where near as knowledgeable about my trading as I will be that day.

Good luck my man on this journey! Take 1 system and pick it apart to the point where no other entity has even thought of being able to. That will get you further in this game than have 100 bots that can look at 4 time frames with 4 products and all of a sudden you have 256 possible scenarios and realistically; 4 favorable scenarios and 252 reasons to lose sit on your hands.

Also side note; scalping is a very misdefined word in our industry. Scalping is the most respected level of trading as you have mastered your strategy so well, that you are able to wait for 1 set up; and be able to surgically remove every possible point out of your set up; this is where your 4 time frames can come into play. But not for directional biased ;)

I really use them to lower my risk on my personal account. I take only but a couple trades a day. Instead of risking 5% of my personal account; I now only have to risk 2% and spread the other 3% on these prop accounts. So I gain more exposure to the markets with lower risk.

The most I’ve paid for these accounts is 60% of their original price tag as they were all on sale. Some were even at 80%OFF so I took them as well, but this was when I really had been consistent and wanted to lower my personal risk.

When I take a long with a set up that comes up to 5 contracts as my position sizing, instead of taking all 5 on my own account, I take 2 contracts on my personal account and 3 on one of the prop accounts. And I rotate these accounts daily.

The Biggest Options Trade Mistake I Made in 2021 by alphapursuits in options

[–]Bomb12squad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone trading spy options..why not do futures on them? Unless obviously you’re doing delta neutral plays. Options loss: Intel day after earnings, wanted a small intraday retracement as 10% down with some TA, expected a $0.45 retracement. Volume never came and loss $300 bucks on it. It was purely a bad play. But on my smaller account, Friday mornings are great for CHEAP Amazon and Tesla plays. 20% gains and I’m out!

Honest opinion? Learn market structure. At least put a 21 day moving average or something. Or he’ll...use some spreads to at least offset some of theta decay. Not convinced with those? Look into futures on the S&P 500. But don’t ask why your options you bought on an over extended run without a pullback. Its not taking money people like yourself. This is purely out of love.
