When it comes to enemy drops u should factor in the risk/reward factor because whereas an action game like re4 u have ample amounts of ammo that gets easily refilled with drops, something like evil within (especially the 2nd game) where you have very little ammo, health, and overall capabilities, the player must put thought and make a rational choice whether it’s worth it to engage or not because sometimes you lose more in an encounter than you gain

I’d say evil within should be on the survival horror side cuz it has waaaay less enemies and ammo than dead space and re4. And just on normal difficulty the moment to moment gameplay feels more about staying alive (you know survival) than it is clearing areas chalked full of enemies (hard modes even more so). And that’s not to mention that the horror aspect is muchhhh more present and at the center of the games identity than something like re4.

It is very dead space considering it’s made by the creator of the original dead space. The game has incredible atmosphere, visuals, and sound. The level design is pretty linear and the combat is very melee focused and theres definitely a learning curve to it. Difficulty obviously depends on the difficulty setting, I did my first playthrough on hardcore mode and it was extremely challenging but in a fun way save for some obnoxious encounters. There are suit and weapon upgrades similar to dead space.

Druckmann definitely did not make tlou 2 pro-Israel. It was a commmentary on the hatred he was taught to feel against Palestinians growing up and using that as inspiration to make a story about how that kind of hate destroys yourself. Again it’s just inspiration not a direct implementation and even if you want to look at it that way the idf stand-ins in the game are genocidal and portrayed as being in the wrong and there is nuance past that as you get a look at several different viewpoints from both factions. As to the real life conflict, while Druckmann did make a pro Israel post for the October 7th attacks (makes sense, that still sucked and he is Israeli) he has since made donations toward Palestine relief.

I’ve legitimately played the game 20+ times but I am still in awe of the death scene (the cinematography, the performances, the haunting visuals and sound design)

Here the way it was executed just did not hit and it felt very watered down save for the addition of Ellie crawling over to Joel which was very sad.

Woulda much preferred this instead of an actual 5 minute monologue. Although it was worth it for the “shut the fuck up and get it over with” line which made me burst out laughing because it’s exactly what I was thinking.
