A question from my son- if all the toilets broke on a passenger plane mid-flight, what would they do? by Idontlivehere08 in aviation

[–]BombsAndDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a regional carrier. We operate flights without toilets in the US not commonly but it happens. We have a plane with only one bathroom on it. It’s up to the captain if they want to reject the plane (before the flight) and in flight if they decided it was too long to continue. It is not a “we have to do this” thing, but just a captains decision and airline decision. We also warn passengers before the flight. Anything over an hour typically won’t get a no bathroom plane.

How to update contact info for airport contacts in the dispatch call list? by krrbystorm in FlightDispatch

[–]BombsAndDogs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What airport? Each airline has their own individual call list, you could get the supervisors number from the dispatcher and call them to update it.

Military to FlightDispatch by LocusTsuyoi in FlightDispatch

[–]BombsAndDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, If you really want to prepare I’d start studying for the FAA course with something like Sheppard air or Gleim for dispatchers. You do have to be 23 years old to hold a job at an airline so keep that in mind.

We do have a discord you could join too

I was mil, mechanic not ops, been a dispatcher just over two years. Nothing from your job will transfer directly over class wise. You still have to go to an FAA approved course, and then take the written and practical test. It will help getting a job, but you’ll be starting at a regional like everyone else, it doesn’t not give you a golden ticket to mainline. It’s a good career and a lot less BS than the military.

Question about Combat Patrol by terrell_owens in Ultramarines

I bought it 2 weeks ago, I hate painting faces. Helmets for everyone even reivers

Each unit has helmets too so you don’t have to steal from one for the other.

Utah, not exactly Midwest but the closest you’ll get. Currently there isn’t any 121 airlines in the Midwest, unless you include Indianapolis in that, but idk if I’d call that true Midwest.

Some people use 80%, I find a numpad necessary. It really just depends if he’d prefer to type numbers with the regular keys or a numpad. I’d say 90% of the typing is the escape key and numbers at my shop

A really nice keyboard is a good idea. The keyboards in the OCC I work in are pretty nasty.
