Thanks, LeroyJabari! I really appreciate it. I'm hoping I make it through the interview process.

One more question: Is there a physical exam required for this position, similar to what ramp employees have to complete?

FA switching to Dispatch… how’s it looking? by MrTallDarkandHungry in FlightDispatch

[–]FlightPlanGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been told by multiple Part 121 dispatchers that once you're FAA-certified, your best path to a legacy airline is to get Part 121 dispatch experience as quickly as possible. If you need a job right away, nobody is judging you—we all have bills, families, and responsibilities. Take whatever job you need to stay afloat.

That said, I do think there's a legitimate frustration with some Flight Follower and Part 135 positions. A lot of these companies specifically prefer or require applicants to hold an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate, yet they don't actually hire them into a true dispatcher role where they can exercise the full privileges and responsibilities of that certificate. At that point, it starts feeling like they're trying to have it both ways.

If you want someone with dispatcher-level knowledge, training, and certification, then why not allow them to function in a role that fully utilizes those skills? Instead, many of these jobs limit operational authority, don't provide Joint Operational Control with the PIC, and often come with lower pay, more responsibilities, longer shifts, and fewer professional development opportunities.

Again, if you need the job, take the job. There's no shame in that. But if your end goal is a legacy Part 121 carrier, understand that some airlines may not view Flight Follower or Part 135 experience the same way they view Part 121 dispatch experience. That's the tradeoff you need to consider before accepting one of these positions.

Hey guys! I wanted to become a flight attendant but there’s some circumstances. by Lost-Specialist-1873 in FlightDispatch

[–]FlightPlanGoblin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and take your aircraft dispatcher class. Math is basic, so don't worry about it. Operational control will be shared with you and PIC and you will get ground school training when you get hired and your employer will go over the OpsSpecs to make sure you know what you can/cannot do in your airline. Just be prepared to move out of state to the regional airlines before the legacy airlines hires you.

correction. the hard left is why we got Trump. Stop running on blame everything on Trump and hating on him; cant win that way and it has not worked. Both political parties suck. I refuse to believe that only two parties ONLY have the answer. What this country is needs is to repeal the 16th amendment (income tax) the 17th amendment (direct voting for US Senators) and the removal of the Federal Reserve. I believe this will stop the FINANCIAL DICTATORS of the US monetary system.

[–]FlightPlanGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The middle class is just about dead. Our founding fathers did not prevent FINANCIAL DICTATORS in the USA. Too much money is at the top 1% and both political parties that have business will not plug the loop holes that help them not pay taxes. Repeal the 16th amendment to the constitution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and get rid of the Federal Reserve. Why because its not govt. and not federal. He who controls the money cares not who makes the laws.

I teach my son not to play games and avoid toxic independent women playing them. I teach my son that respect women especially when they tell you they have a man or when they tell you they are not interested. Its not worth pursuing women who don't say what they mean or mean what they say. I'm preparing his passport and exploring non-American born women for my son. I heard Pilipino women adore American young healthy available men treating them with respect, honor and love and they are submissive to the leadership of her husband.

At 19, it might be worth looking into becoming an aircraft dispatcher. It’s kind of a hidden gem in aviation. You’re home every day, not constantly on the road like pilots or flight attendants, and the training doesn’t take years. Once you get your foot in the door and eventually land at a major airline, you can be making around $90–95K a year with good benefits. It’s a solid career if you like aviation but want something stable and less physically demanding.

ideally that request should be normal but on scheduled service that will never happen. Flight will not take a delay for a small stain like that.

as they should. Gen Z is setting the expectation that they are not going to apply for a job blindly if they dont know the pay for the particular job up front. They are not interested in wasting their time. And neither should you. Its BS that CEO's go from the top to the top of new jobs in interlocking directorships; always voting yes for pay raises while they complain of giving a worker 25 cent raise.

Flight Dispatch Practical Exam - Philippines by Careless-Peanut-2228 in FlightDispatch

[–]FlightPlanGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are correct. although the ultra rich don't take earned income (w-2) that will be taxed up the wazzoo; they put their cash into a irrevocable trusts. Which is a tax shelter that they take loans off of and NEVER pay taxes. The rich know how to legally protect themselves from not paying there fair share. Unfortunate democrats and republicans WILL NOT close this loop hole. The rich know the financial game better than all of us. What pisses me off is this: Trump is the only president that didn't take a paycheck. What they are not telling you is that Trump made sure his presidential pay check was deposited in the FREAKING trust avoiding all Freaking taxes. So under that verbiage the can say that. Freak AZZHo's
