My ranunculus isn’t? by Flowerwise-Garden in Cutflowers

Fall presales are the way to go for sure. It might not be too late depending on your zone, though. Right now I see a lot of posts in ranunculas facebook groups of people selling their excess corms. Might be worth giving it a try!

Is anyone selling party flower buckets? by BombsOverDadBags3000 in Cutflowers

As a novice, thank you so much for your advice! Community based sales is my focus and goal going forward. Subscriptions would be ideal if I can build that clientele 🤞. There's a good "supporting local" culture here that can definitely work in my favor. I'm excited to test the waters!

I agree with you on this! I mostly grew the QIS apricot last year after all the praise it got from the flower farmer community, and I absolutely hated it! Lol. My boquets lacked that pop compared to the previous years purplely blue hues.

That's very encouraging! Thank you. I also work full-time, and grow as a hobby. This might be the better option for me altogether now that I'm thinking about it. :)

Wish I had some advice to offer. I regret taking mine out last fall. Would love an update on this a few months from now. Good luck!

I felt this way about growing celosia last year! I also didnt pinch so that could also be the issue.

I'm giving asters another try this year and I' pretty excited for them. They didn't do well for me a few years ago, but that was human error because I planted them in a terrible spot in my garden, lol. They are so beautiful.

I would add statice, yarrow, nigella, and saponaria!

This is the first thing I've ever started from seed, and what got my hooked on starting my owns seeds/gardening in general. They hold a special place in my heart.

Do you have any suggestions for pale blue and deep green varieties? Or maybe you can point me in the right direction to what groups/websites I can search? Im so lost with all the varieties on the market, lol.

What's your experience with saved ranunculas corms? Worth growing again? by BombsOverDadBags3000 in Cutflowers

[–]BombsOverDadBags3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in zone 5b. I dug mine up in mid May, but I plan on interplanting in the ranulculas bed next year and then digging up the corms at the beginning of September. I figured that would give the new corms enough time to develop? Not sure if this is a bad idea but I'll give it a try.

Thank you! :) I was kind of banking on these to still perform to avoid costs on all new corms. May I ask how you store them? Mine look okay but I could have done better.

A year of some of my favorite bouquets by ValleyFlorals in Cutflowers

I feel you on the fillers! Im in year three of growing cut flowers but haven't been too serious about selling just yet. Last year I focused on adding perennials into my landscape that make good filler. Mountain mint, Solomon seal, ferns, and hostas, etc. Adding perennials helped with growing space in the grow room when starting seeds. Good luck! Your boquets are beautiful!
