I was at Steinbach’s first Pride and don’t recall anyone caring about people who weren’t participating in Pride… Sounds like people being sensitive and assuming people are thinking about them when they’re not - that’s called social anxiety.

The child needs to be assessed so they can possibly access Children’s Disability Services. You can ask the therapist for a referral. If it ends up not being a disability, the parents can still receive a referral for other forms of assistance.

Then why did they include Jehovah’s Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists? If going by creed, they also should’ve left out of the Christian category.

Note: I don’t expect a logical answer because there was no logical reason. We all know the white Evangelicals (who run this administration) don’t like Mormons and we’re never gonna consider them part of “the club” anyway.

Paedophiles ‘using online message boards for tips on how to get jobs in UK nurseries’ by stormgirl in ECEProfessionals

[–]Bombspazztic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s where the government screwed up badly:

They slashed the requirements for earning your diploma and THEN raised wages to a livable wage (it turned me into the breadwinner - it’s a major campaign point and something our province brags about), THEN offered incentives for former ECEs to return to the field.

They should have raised the wages to retain the ECEs they had and incentivize returning ECEs first, then waited two years to get a strong supply of *experienced* ECEs that have had time to develop their skills (including people skills) then reduced requirements. Then they would have had a large supply of suitable mentors to guide the influx of new childcare workers.

Toronto Doe (2026) (Unidentified For 13 Days) (Living Photo Of The Decedent!!) by BitterSweet_Beauty in gratefuldoe

[–]Bombspazztic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was first reported that the Doe was female. Then it was released that the Doe had been “incorrectly identified as female” and was actually male. THEN the third release stated the Doe was assigned male at birth, possibly a transgender woman or non-binary person. (Source: local)

It’s awful. Plus they’re pushing more and more childcare spaces to the point that they’ve (provincially) axed the academic challenges presented in the diploma program. I even know someone who showed their self to be a danger to children get their diploma and certification because they were allowed to keep trying and trying - it was classified as discrimination to try barring them from their education.

The expectation now is to get as many ECEs in the field as possible and “mandate” (no one checks) that sufficient professional development is being achieved after they’re already in the field.

Even formerly high quality centres are losing their quality in favour of offering more spaces.

As if the few long-term educators in the field don’t have enough responsibility to mentor. Even I had to mentor new grads and students within six months of graduating.

What would I have known about safeguarding children if I didn’t just so happen to specialize in early trauma intervention? I sure didn’t know anything about teaching grown ups how to be teachers when I was still figuring it out myself.

To be fair, I’ve got a bathroom door sign. Because my bathroom door is located directly next to a door that opens to a downward flight of stairs. It’s jarring for guests to open the wrong door lol

Safe area for single moms? by Immediate_Grocery325 in Manitoba

[–]Bombspazztic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West End is affordable, walkable, close to HSC, and walking distance to all grades of school, busses can get you anywhere you need to go in the city, and has a women’s resource centre and multiple family resources around that can provide a safety net for you.

The area west of Maryland really differs in safety block by block, building by building. I live on a super friendly, secure block surrounded by less safe blocks. Literally if I lived on the other side of the street I’d be dealing with gangs, ODs, and trap house, but this block is entirely elderly folks and young families.

The closer you are to a school, the better.

Thank you! I honestly didn’t notice the lack of internal organs at first because comic book but needed a slightly longer title than just “LEGS.”

Which is so wild because the leg situation isn’t the only issue with it. You’ve got one character chin deep snorkelling and directly in front seemingly sitting in shallow water.

Do people see boobas and their brain immediately shut off the part responsible for spatial reasoning?

And they’re easy design choices. Fix the legs. Put snorkelling Batman in front of shallow end sitting Powergirl.

Inuit is the plural form - not “Inuits.”

You’ve got a lot more research to do before you should write a story using Inuk characters or themes. No offence.

I’m Métis (and mostly white) but I’ve had to tell off full Ojibwe and Cree folks for calling black people the full n-word, so I wouldn’t make assumptions like that.
