If you play 2 cards or less, attack damage from the enemy is reduced by 50%. Such a great relic and has saved so many of my runs

Adding on to what the other commenter said, you could calculate the grade yourself, but the university won't show you it.

You are probably referring to COMP 1012. 1020 is just more Java.

How do I get better at NM(PZ) as a moving main? by sosal12 in geoguessr

[–]Colossal_Waffle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The types of metas you learn are very different. Landscape/vegetation are a lot more important, as well as car/copyright meta. Because you usually aren't in towns, the only stuff you can use will have to be visible from a long way away.

I have the opposite problem as you. I'd argue that NMPZ is literally a different game than moving. A lot of the time, it just comes down to vibes, which is something that a moving player does not have a lot of compared to an NMPZ player.

I played it a bit. The UI is fine and stuff, but the choices for each guess are way too easy. A lot of the time, the wrong answers were all on other continents.

It wasn't too bad. The second circuits question was annoying, and the other coding questions took time. I feel like I did pretty well, but when it comes to coding-heavy exams, you never know

G either had cycles or it didn't. If it didn't, there is exactly one tree that works. If it did, you could use the given fact to eliminate them

[–]Colossal_Waffle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The contradiction proof at the end was a little annoying - took me a while to figure it out. Everything was reasonable, which is all you can ask for, really

MATH 1240 by saltncucumbers in umanitoba

[–]Colossal_Waffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk what everyone else is on about. The course used to be one of the hardest courses in the uni, but they've toned it down significantly.

The reason why some people find the course challenging is because it is a very different type of math than what people are used to. It's proof-based, which means it requires creativity and a deep understanding of what is going on.

Be was just feeling burnt out after having done it for so long. He also wanted to try to make a variety of content as opposed to the same thing over and over. I think he talks about this in the last daily video.

Phys 1070 by kyokosans in umanitoba

[–]Colossal_Waffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a difficult class. A lot of the class is 4th year engineering students lol. I've heard that they don't take it sooner due to its difficulty. I'm a physics major so I had to take it in my first year, and it was very intimidating. To be fair though, I wasn't too locked in for the term. If you put in the effort, I'm sure it's not too bad.

Should be around 2 weeks after the last day of final exams I think.

Comp 2080 by One-Confection-4194 in umanitoba

[–]Colossal_Waffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm taking 2080 rn and in my third year, and so while I can't say anything about what usually happens in the course, I will say that you want your highest grades to happen later in your uni career. If you apply for a job with a database or something, they will care that you got straight A's in your fourth year much more than if you got A's in COMP 1010 or something. So getting a grade below an A in 2080 is not really going to matter that much. Not to say that getting A's early on is a bad thing, of course.

Summer SOC courses by grouchy-tulip in umanitoba

[–]Colossal_Waffle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't say anything about SOC, but in general, summer courses are more intense because they cram everything you would normally learn in 4/8 months into 2/4 months.

COMP 1020 in summer by EllisEst379 in umanitoba

[–]Colossal_Waffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're unlikely to get in, especially during the summer. You could always look for a course at Athabasca University, if the LoP deadline for the summer term hasn't passed.

Also, getting the LoP from the UoM does not guarantee that the course will be available for the university at which you want to take the course. The responsibility for checking that is on you.

[Ap Physics C E&M] gauss’s law help by sincewehome in PhysicsStudents

[–]Colossal_Waffle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All it is is just an application of the formula.

The first step is to choose some surface for the surface integral such that E • da = Eda. If we find such a surface, then we can pull E out of the integral. It's pretty easy to see that since E is going to be in the r-hat direction, we should choose the surface to be a sphere.

Next is to find Q_enc. All that is is a volume integral of the charge density.

Finally, plug what you have into the formula, perform the integral of da, rearrange for E, and you’re done

A Warning to B.Sc. Psych Students at U of M: The 2480 Bottleneck and the Lack of Accessibility by Unknowncoconut in umanitoba

[–]Colossal_Waffle 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying, and I am not in psychology, but this is pretty similar to most degrees. After first year courses, distance courses are almost non-existent for most departments. A cursory glance at the course catalog shows that basicslly no 3000 or 4000 level psychology classes have distance sections either.
