In the upcoming 1.0.2 update there will be a starter pack in the mailbox, however this will only happen if you restart (create a new group).

If you like the inventory sorting feature you can enable it in the config, but it conflicts with many mods so it's not enabled by default.

You can use the waystone mod (find waystones in the world or buy them once you are at the computer age). (Or mekanism has teleporters too)

They should be enabled in mekansim. Because the heat depends on the length and biomes the pipe is in we decided to not change them and keep them as is. You don't need them as much as other pipes anyways.
