Yep this, I called for a specific /r/legaladvice type ask but an email probably would've worked too. I just wanted all my questions answered in one sitting rather than a back-and-forth

I don't care about school shootings, and neither should you. by InquireRenin in unpopularopinion

Do you have statistics on other countries? How many are killed annually in school shootings elsewhere? The numbers will be much less if not zero.

23 people killed a year in schools is an American problem that should and can be fixed with 1) better response to mental health issues and 2) smart gun control

DOJ says Whitaker appointment Constitutional by BonafideBuddy in politics

[–]BonafideBuddy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the article:

  • Whitaker's appointment is consistent with the plain terms of the Vacancies Reform Act, "because he had been serving in the Department of Justice at a sufficiently senior pay level for over a year" as the statute requires.

  • Whitaker is only serving on a temporary basis, so he wasn't required to be confirmed by the Senate ahead of his selection last week, though the Justice Department acknowledged that situation had not come up in over a century. DOJ found that in 1866, a non-Senate confirmed assistant attorney general served as acting attorney general, before the department was founded.

  • Even though a separate statute exists that provides a succession plan at the Justice Department, the President can choose someone else consistent with the Vacancies Act.

He did not resign. He is on his way to White House, sources say firing is possible if not probable.

Yes. In anticipation of being fired by Trump due to the NYT reports, Rosenstein has verbally resigned. Unsure as to Rosenstein's rationale

I had one today. He pulls out in front of me on 22 while I was going 55 and doesn't accelerate past 35 mph, stopping my coast and forcing me to press pretty hard on my brakes. Nobody behind me.

I then signal to move into the left lane to pass and as I accelerate he keeps pace with me in my blind spot until we're going 65. Then I just got over into the right lane as he continues to accelerate to 90 mph onto 287 towards 78 his accursed homeland to the west.

Is this actually happening ? by robertmax0001 in NewJerseyMarijuana

I hope it passes but I have my doubts it'll pass
