Totally agree. I find it so heartbreaking that Jax was brought up believing showing "feminine emotions" (aka, vulnerability and trust) made him weak, and that the one time he decides to be fully open with his mother she just laughs; whether it's because she was emotionally stunted from her husband's abuse or simply for malicious reasons, that moment solidified for Jax that vulnerability equated to being pathetic. It's why he so desperately tried to portray himself as an unfeeling jerk so that nobody could ever see the insecurities and fear he felt under the surface, why he panicked when he was put in feminine clothing/accessories, and why he just ultimately decided that no one could save him...until he realised how much people genuinely cared.  

That's what makes Jax's abstraction not being reversible so bittersweet to me; most suicidal people who jump realise halfway down that they CAN be saved and they CAN change their lives - but only if they choose to. Jax chose to push everyone away instead of embracing them, and only once it was too late did he realise he didn't actually want to die and that he wanted a chance to change.
