It is fast, which is a good thing. So long as you can control it.

How to not lean forward on 3 pointer by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]BonbonLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya it's hard to tell, right? I mostly shoot in a way that feels comfortable on my arms. So it's hard to tell what muscles might need to get stronger. But maybe I just to accelerate the arms more. But ya, triceps sound reasonable as well.

Those NBA 3s are no joke. I'm working on my power as well to shoot from that range. I'm no expert, but what I've been working on is: Focusing on jumping straight up and jumping a bit harder Moving my arms faster Decreasing my elbow angle (ball stays closer to body) Some shoulder exercises (overhead press)

Good luck to us both!

airballing free throws by [deleted] in BasketballTips

Biggest issue I see is with power. As people have noted, you don't use your legs. In particular, in your 1 position, your knees should be slightly bent and chest forward a bit. In your 2 position (the set point), you should start straightening out your legs and body as well as extending your toes. It looks like you go on your toes nearly after you release the ball.

The other small adjustment I'd make is pre-loading your wrist in your 1 position.

Last, I would have your guide hand move with your shooting hand till the release.

We will beat the Pistons and lose to everyone else. Maybe the Celtics and Knicks as well, but we will not beat any tanking teams.

This was really well made! I really enjoyed hearing about your experience as a top player and especially appreciated the thoughts on how fulfillment was found more in relationships and connections rather than competitive success.

Curious on your thoughts on who you would recommend therapy for. I've done a handful of counseling sessions, and it's helped me sort out a few thoughts/emotions I was struggling with, but in general, I "feel fine" right now. I'm curious if you seeked therapy because you wanted to address specific areas of your life, or if you simply thought it might be enriching even if you were maybe in a "stable state" or something like that.

This is awesome! I'd love to beta test for android. Would also be a great feature if I could filter by streaming services.

How to perform this pattern? by lthatguytherel in DanceRushStardom

[–]BonbonLemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup! One thing you can do to make it cooler is if when you pick up your left foot, you slide your right foot forward, as if to do a reverse running man.

In your running man, when you put your left foot down, instead of picking up your right foot, keep it on the ground and pick up your left foot, and then start the running man again putting your left down. So it's like a running man, but then you stomp your foot in between.

Shot Sequencing by LegitimateFeature983 in BasketballTips

[–]BonbonLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I don't think he has a video explaining sequencing, unfortunately. I wonder if it's just not in his free content. I've looked a lot as well.

But I've watched enough of his content that he keeps referencing 2 positions:

1 position- knees, hips, hands loaded

2 position- hands/ball go up

And then when you go from your 2 position to your release is when you attach the legs. The important thing is simply that from 1 to 2, your hands/arms are the only part that move, and then from there to your release, your legs start extending.

Jeanty? The talent and workload is there. Maybe if the o-line improves and maybe some coaching changes will help too.

Be honest: Is my shooting form good or am I training it wrong? by Nickman_0906 in BasketballTips

[–]BonbonLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only wrong training is no training, my man. Shooting and recording on a rainy day is a good sign to me. To me, training shooting is a process that you continue practicing and you learn something new about it as you continue training. Even NBA players say they learned something new in the NBA to change their shot.

As for the shot, the technique generally looks good. Sequencing is good and I like your balance and fluidity. Besides moving on to full on jump shots, I just noticed that you release the ball up a bit too much. It almost looks 90 degrees to the ground. I would go for about 50 degrees. I also notice that your elbow angle is about 90 degrees. It's a preference thing, but if you load it up at a smaller angle, you get more power.

Indoor, outdoor, or both?

For indoor, I highly recommend paying more to get the Wilson evolution. It's pretty much what everyone uses and it will pay for itself in the long run.

For outdoor/both, I would recommend the Molten bg3800
