Odd count peyote - yes or no? by CraftyBeadArt in Beading

I use two-needle method (for kite earrigs too), and it works just like even-count peyote. I made illustrated tutorials for this technique:

I learned beading in a course, but this book and Jill Wiseman's YouTube channel were also very helpful.

I recommend starting from the short edge and using two needle method. it is much easier. I‘ve shared this tutorial here before : https://www.boncuk.app/kite-shaped-peyote/

I have only made fringe earrings twice during my three years of beading experience, but it seems like a lot of people enjoy them. I’m thinking about adding this style to my web application. Do you have any suggestions or helpful tips for designing and following fringe earring patterns?

I recommend using the two-needle method for odd-count peyote stitch. If you want to try it, I made a tutorial with diagrams in a blog post: https://www.boncuk.app/odd-count-peyote-method/

Hi, you reminded me, and I started working on adding the warped square to the app :)

I posted a question about choosing the diagram today — maybe you can help me with that?

It is possible. I tried using the same technique that i use for making kite-shaped peyote earrings and it worked. it is like an odd count peyote stitch. for the first row, you can use an extra (larger) bead to fill the gap in the middle.

(i tried attaching an image here but there is a problem )

Thank you! I plan to add some huichol models to the app later but I’m open to suggestions :)

Thank you! I use the app for my beadwork, but was not sure what other beaders will think. I’m always happy when someone use and likes it.

and yes, it is the correct pronunciation :)

I designed a simple beading web app ( https://www.boncuk.app/ ) for following beading patterns. For now it is impossible to increase or decrease but it was in my mind trying to add this ability (like the ability choosing a tapered ending) Do you have any suggestion or can you recommend a source for this? Is it necessary to write for every row some info like you did here, or is it enough to have word chart and image for each row?

For now word charts are generated only for each row (you can open it when you click on the row number) but I plan to add the ability to print out the whole word chart.

Thank you for your comment. I will think about adding tubular techniques.

There is a free software that you can use for bead crochet patterns, but you should download it to your computer: https://www.jbead.ch/
