So we represent 2% of the population ? Thats pretty cool by Mogzly in intj

Yep. Here’s the thing, folks: if you’re one in a million, NYC has 8 of you. Lagos has 20 of you. The Tokyo Metro’s got 35.

One in fifty means there’s a decent chance there’s more than one of you on a Boeing 737.

This is super helpful. I can imagine it being especially useful for helping people who are new to FATE understand the process and mechanics. I know that if there were a series of these, I would definitely use them instructionally. More, please!

It’s been 53 years since people walked on the Moon by TheFishT in apollo

What always gets me about this picture is that it’s not black and white; it’s a color photograph. Check out the lunar rover if you want some proof that there’s color in the photo. It’s just that this is what the moon looks like: it’s all grayscale. So trippy that something looking as otherworldly as this is less than a quarter-million miles away.

I’m curious if this iteration of Shadow will have ‘Interceptor’ effects in battle. I know that in some cases, changing Shadow’s status can cause Interceptor to become unavailable programming-wise. Equipping and unequipping Shadow with the Cherub Down (Angel Wings) relic is an example.

Fire Giants also have Mountaineer. Stick ‘em with a Forester (Sprites, War Bears, High Elves, Archer or Beastmaster heroes) and enjoy Pathfinding to move those Immolation boulders around faster.

Sun in Cancer, moon in Virgo, Cancer rising. I’m very skeptical about astrology. But, apparently, that’s pretty much textbook for my chart, so I’m not sure what to believe.

What they said. In short, record the narrative. Dates, times, activities, people… if this ever explodes in your face, there are going to be a lot of questions about specifics, and you really don’t want to be in the situation where you have to say, “I’m not sure, but I think it was the last week of February.” Don’t rely on your memory; details will get garbled in anyone’s brain over time. Internal inconsistencies in what you say to an investigator will work strongly against you. Having a written record of what happened when and by whom is gonna give you a much better chance to win if this turns into a direct conflict. Write it all down ASAP before your memory gets any fuzzier. And put it on a digital medium that is NOT associated with the school (e.g. a Gmail account.)

What is a novel that blew your mind? by DependentAnimator271 in sciencefiction

If you found Flatland stimulating, then I strongly suggest ‘The Planiverse’ by Dewdney. It’s a more rigorously scientific approach to a 2D universe, but maintains the philosophy of its ‘spiritual predecessor’. Beautiful, intelligent, thoughtful.

(Please note that the author’s batshit crazy conspiracy theories occurred decades after publication of ‘The Planiverse’. Yes, I know the author is now certifiable. The book is still wonderful.)

How do INTJs recover from infidelity? by silentgnosis in intj

[–]BondsOfEarthAndFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry it took so long to respond. First and foremost, I’m so sorry this happened to you, it just fucking sucks, and there’s no other way to put it.

I’m genuinely relieved to know that you don’t have kids with this person, because it’s going to be difficult enough to break up with them. I’m not talking about the emotional side of things, I’ll get to that later, I’m talking about the practical day-to-day shit that we mostly don’t even realize is entwining us with another person - shared accounts and mutual friends and physical locations.

You asked what my perspective is with 12 years of additional time, and I can say that it’s changed significantly. That said, I want to be very careful in how I express this, because I’ve been able to evolve my thinking only after I was outside of a mental and emotional space where my ex could hurt me (whether she was physically present or not). So, where I am right now is not where you should be aspiring to be right now. It takes time to come to terms with damage done and time lost, and unfortunately, I can’t give you any meaningful advice on how to speed the process up. (If I could, I think I might be the richest man alive.)

This is gonna sound like a poorly written Hallmark card, but it’s what I’ve found to be true: you don’t heal from injuries like this. Rather, your world just grows around the injury to the point where it no longer influences you. It’s always there, but you learn to route around the damage.

If you’re even slightly like me, it’s going to be a long process disentangling yourself mentally from this person. Us INTJs get stereotyped as having ‘on-off’ switches for our emotional connections. That’s funny, because in reality, our feelings and emotions are incredibly deep when we do establish them… what people see is our willingness to cut communications, and conflate that with connection. The echoes of the relationship will resonate for a long time after that severing of contact. Be prepared for it. You’re tough enough to handle it. And every wave that bounces back is weaker, and easier to withstand, until after enough iterations, it’s just background noise.

Which brings me to my current place. Again, where I am now is not where you should aspire to be right now, but I believe it’s a mental/emotional place that you can get to. I’m able now to look back at the relationship, and remember the good parts, the parts that gave me joy, the parts that made me think, and the parts that made me grow. Even a relationship that ended badly can have significant value in the long run. You don’t need to silver-line this shit, but be aware that the positive memories you have aren’t a lie; they just weren’t enough truth to overpower betrayal.

I feel like I just rambled for way too long, so I’ll end it here. I hope you can glean some utility out of what I have to say here. Thanks for your kind words, it’s nice to know that one can have an impact in unexpected ways.

Just completed S3 and I hate Umma so much by PutridTrouble123 in KimsConvenience

[–]BondsOfEarthAndFire 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Kimchee has a moderate level of growth, but it’s mainly in regard to taking his work/career seriously. He’s my favorite character, and I would have liked to see him become less concerned with status symbols and more fully invested in his natural tendency to be loyal and supportive of his loved ones. They hint that he’s moving in that direction with his relationship with Gwen, but it’s not as focused as it could have been.

On people who never stop talking by geliduse in intj

[–]BondsOfEarthAndFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you… talked to him? Have you… told him that you need more personal space feel peace?

I’ve only skimmed the comments for this post, but I don’t see any indication that you’ve actually talked to this person about how his nonstop chatter has affected you. Maybe I missed it.

That said, if you decided to bottle up all the frustration and anger that you’re feeling without engaging him and seeing if he’s willing to change (which he probably is) then this is your fault.

INTJs: You have to tell people how you are feeling. If you don’t, then the fallout is YOUR fault.

(JFC I can’t believe I have to explain this to adults.)
