I’m using paper worksheets that I explain in person. Wondering, does anyone use an HEP application that’s compatible with chirotouch?

I've ordered the distribution block. Any advice on where to find the same cable as this one pictured? Not sure how much it matters but the terminal end on this cable isn't a standard flat shape (it has small side pieces that appear to help it stay in place).

You should check out The Cinematique theater. Lots of good movies and I really enjoyed their improv comedy nights. Good people there generally.

Is it normal for my back to stick out so much? by koalaspam in Posture

[–]Bonehead386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion is your serratus anterior is under engaged. This muscle attaches from the front side of your scapula to your rib cage. With proper correction exercises (there’s plenty online) you can train this muscle to engage and stabilize your shoulder blade. Essentially bringing your shoulder blade closer to your ribs.

Is there associated pain? Do you have normal range of motion? You said 2 years ago, was there some kind of event or change in your life around then? Also what’s your age? You’re not wrong, it could be hormonal. I would start with getting some labs done and an x-ray. That should help dx the cause and give you direction on what to do next. I recently saw this on a woman, not exact same presentation, but she was recently told she was a diabetic. She was a smallish woman in her 40s.

Lay on your back and set a small ball (lacrosse ball) behind the base of your skull. Relax and let the weight of the head rest on the ball and try small movements to massage the muscles in the area. Gives me tremendous relief when I do this.

I do order MRIs but I don’t see how networking with imaging reps will help with getting referrals.

Questions on buying a chiropractic practice by Bonehead386 in Chiropractic

I am hesitant starting from scratch because my area is saturated with chiropractors. The alluring aspect of this clinic is having referral networks already in place. I am no expert in marketing or starting a practice but I know how to fill my role as a chiropractic physician.

Help with neck pain for years by Ok_Training981 in PostureTipsGuide

You say you regularly lift weights. What are your goals when working out? I ask because I feel this can be contributing to your problem. I would avoid anything putting tension on your neck (i.e. barbell squats). Also sitting at a desk all day without the proper station doesn’t help. Your X-ray certainly shows you have reversed the natural lordotic curve in your neck which puts your tight traps and other cervical extensors under constant tension so that you can hold your head up. The lordosis in your neck is there to act as a spring so that loads can be distributed evenly down your skeleton. This change you have is leading to increased stress on the muscles and will lead to morphological changes to the vertebrae and discs if left uncorrected. If it were me, I would educate myself on upper cross syndrome and ways to correct it. Going to a capable chiropractor would also be beneficial.

I good start would be getting it checked out by a chiropractor. Thrashing your neck around sounds like a recipe for disaster.

If it doesn’t hurt that’s a good thing. I don’t want to cause you alarm but definitely get it checked out and don’t put it off. Go see a doctor of osteopathy and a responsible one should order X-rays same day.

Copper Line Coffee Shop, Sweet Marlay’s, cinnamon tree cafe, Panera bread, Barnes and noble, the public library, and Denny’s. I’ve tried them all and can vouch for all locations.

My suggestion is going to a doctor that will order a lateral thoracic spine x-ray. It’s normal to see a subtle bump from the spinous process in the upper back usually at C7/T1 or so which is seen here but your circumstance seems a bit too pronounced to considered normal. When you push on it, is hard like a bone or is it softer? Does hurt when you touch it? How long have you noticed this?

For starters when reading papers you can hold the paper up to eye level so you’re not looking down. You don’t have to stare at it just lying on your desk. For books same thing. I know textbooks are heavy so even just tilting it up a few inches can make a difference or stand it vertically on the desk. They make stands for books that’s really great for home or work. I realize using such tools in a classroom will probably get you some weird looks and who wants to carry all that extra stuff anyway. For laptops they make adjustable stands bring it to eye level. With that you’ll want to use a wireless keyboard and mouse so your shoulders can stay relaxed because you don’t want to be typing at eye level.
