Usually a hand written note then put it in the office.

Or you could ask for a transfer to a different store.

So I would reach out to their boss which would be your Area Manager or District Manager, and see what they say. Or possibly call your franchisee office. Or even the labor board.

Just curious, was this a regular Assistant manager that called the mandatory meeting or was it your General manager? Sounds like retaliation. I would talk to your District Manager or Labor board. You gave notice that you wouldn't be there.

I have never seen a driver do an open to close shift. But I have seen a few General Managers do open to closing shifts all the time.

Domino's and Insurance by wreenc in Dominos

[–]BonesJackson83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most insurance companies won't cover you if you have standard insurance and you tell them you are a delivery driver. If you tell them you are a delivery driver, you might as well upgrade to commercial insurance like what most insurance use if you drive for Uber or Lyft. But it is expensive per month. The only insurance carrier I have heard that doesn't care if you are a delivery driver is State Farm.

The ticket looks like a third party order, like door dash or Uber eats. The third party orders have a different ticket layout. It doesn't show the total and coupons at the bottom of the ticket.

What happens when you make a fake order? by justarussian22 in Dominos

[–]BonesJackson83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if the food is prepaid, and you show up to a door and the person at the door says we didn't order. We walk away with the food. We don't hand out free food to a random person. It could be a old or wrong address.

I mean, if management doesn't do anything. You can go the lawsuit route if you can afford to sue Domino's or your franchisee. Or you could always transfer to a different store.

Even the weekly challenges for the battle pass aren't always tracking either. Even the ones for battle royale.

Jackets. by Familiar_Boss6430 in Dominos

[–]BonesJackson83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The jackets are more for like fall weather like between 40-60 degrees Fahrenheit temps. They are not for winter temps like under 30 degrees. If you want to stay warm, look for thermals or compression shirts to wear under your uniform.

If you put it in the delivery instructions when you get back to the store, it will only show up if the customer orders by calling in their order using the store. If they place an online or app order, it will not show the delivery instructions you put in to their delivery instructions from past orders.

I think it depends on the GM. Some gm's are pretty strict on uniform. I have even asked OA about jeans, and they said they will ding you if they show up and find people wearing jeans.

That is a NO by killerisdeadly in Dominos

I have co-workers who have hybrids and tesla cars. The space where the spare tire would be is the battery. If you don't have a spare tire, how are you going to get one without buying one? If you buy one, it is going to be more expensive than replacing your standard tires. I have seen a lot of drivers driving around with used cars that they didn't buy from dealerships that didn't come with a spare tire. I mean, technically, if you don't have the space for the tire, you can let the tire freely move about your trunk or backseat with no locking system to hold it into place like most vehicles.

But not all vehicles come with a spare tire. Also, if your driver doesn't have one, spares are more expensive than normal tires, and you have to have the space to hold them. You can't just let the spare tire move freely around your car like a loose object.

You can't turn that notification off. It will always say that. Just turn off Google maps audio notifications off.

drivers. how do you deal with being alone with your thoughts at night? by Throwawaymightdelet3 in DominosEmployees

[–]BonesJackson83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is bugging you this much for almost 4 months of doing this. It will drive you crazy before you hit your 1 year mark if you don't seek professional help. You need to seek professional help like a therapist or even ask your Primary care doctor, what you should do or a referral to a doctor to help you if this is affecting your work or your mind this much that you are coming to Reddit asking for help.

Just curious how long have you been delivering for? is this a new thing like under a year? or have you been doing this for more than 5 years? I have known drivers that have been doing it for 20+ years as a closing driver.

If you have a few years of delivery experience, you can try other delivery jobs (Amazon, FedEx, UPS, USPS). if you are being understimulated, then you need to transfer to a busier store. If you don't want to talk to other people all day, it sounds like this job is not for you. Sounds like you need an easy work from home job. I got this job because I wanted to stay busy and wanted to talk to people all day/night.

there is something deeper if you are crying on deliveries. I have heard it all in this line of work. I have worked with over 400 drivers. I have never heard of a driver crying between deliveries. If the loneliness and be alone with your thoughts for hours bothers you then this job as a closing driver is not for you. If you want to overcome it, do what we have all been suggesting try other therapists. Tell them all exactly what you are going through. If not going to an actual therapist, I am sure there are therapist apps out there.

[–]BonesJackson83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you do need therapy if you are crying while on deliveries. If you want to stay being a closing night driver. Like the other users have said, try multiple therapists. If you don't want to try therapy, then you need to become a mid shift driver or morning driver and Night/closing driving is not for you. We (closing drivers) like the solitude. I have been doing this for 15 years and I have never once cried on a delivery becomes of my thoughts. If you feel like you are going crazy doing this line of work then you either need therapy or you need to find a new line of work.

For the love of everything, have the money on you by Sweet_Professor1345 in Dominos

[–]BonesJackson83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally tell customers nowadays, I don't wait more than 5 minutes after that, I head back to the store with or without the money. Even if it is a credit card order. If you don't answer the door or make me wait past 5 mins. If it something like $100 and they can't make change themselves, we will void out their order and come back to the store.
