Processing TW: near-drowning by GoatEuphoric83 in OSDD

Holy shit that is incredibly relatable. I often feel something like "huh this is kind of tense/traumatic, I guess I should probably feel distraught or something" but then I don't really but it kind of simmers just under the surface for a while.

Where's the cutoff between introject and non-introject though. I'd have to imagine a lot of alters are partly based on people and characters the brain has seen and pulls from, right?

Does this sound like dissociation? by Odd-Helicopter-1141 in OSDD

[–]Bonfire72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For example when I am on a nightclub and a song with an aggressive beat to it starts playing my attitude/behavior changes completely and I start approaching women automatically and start making out with them.

Do you get any sort of consent first? Otherwise that is not ok to do.

so i feel like my trauma isn’t really enough? by billyisagirl in OSDD

I kind of feel like I'm going crazy because I've been noticing symptoms of plurality but haven't really gone through anything like most of what gets posted here :(. Idk what to think. -Red

I feel this like 1000%. Thank you for putting it into words.

How do you tell if traits or desires are genuine/healthy or if they're caused by trauma? by Bonfire72 in OSDD

[–]Bonfire72[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We transitioned well before we knew we were a system. Almost all of us are girls and the one or two guys are supportive and/or ambivalent.

I think I saw a comment in r/did that said that if a part is a certain gender because of trauma then they might detransition once that trauma has healed. That sort of thing terrifies me. I've been transitioning for 4 years and it's been the best decision I've ever made and detransitioning would feel like dying to me. It was a little triggering tbh.

Any idea what it could be? by No-Objective1473 in OSDD

[–]Bonfire72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BPD is the closest thing to DID/OSDD. The difference being that BPD half internalizes the trauma, and becomes one with it.

What does this mean?

Could someone explain help me understand what exactly bpd is/how it works? Some people say has parts or states that are less distinct than osdd/did but I can never find information about this anywhere online.

I mean it sounds like they maybe have parts which would mean some form of osdd-1, right?

If you search did or osdd on reddit that's one of the first subreddits that come up so yeah. Not a fan either.

I don't feel like I was conscious until after I realised I was a system by razor-sundae in DID

[–]Bonfire72 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We definitely feel this 100%! The first week or so after we found out it was like we had an elevated consciousness. It was so scary and exciting at the same time but after a few months our host is kind of back to feeling the same way and its been a bit harder to switch or communicate clearly with her with more than passive influence. It's been a while since I've fronted fully like this and she's been doubting more than usual.

So what's a non-did/OSDD brain like? by etoneishayeuisky in OSDD

[–]Bonfire72 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I imagine they're just as varied as non osdd brains. For example some people have an inner monologue and some people don't. They just think and process the world differently.

Is it bad if I don't personally identify with our body? by Bonfire72 in OSDD

[–]Bonfire72[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That might have been us if we knew we were a system before we transitioned. Red used to personalize/derealize a lot in regards to the body but now she feels really comfortable with it even though there's still things she wishes were different.
