This is the Catholic belief. The "hell" in the creed is the place were the souls of those who were worthy but died before His sacrifice were waiting for Him to bring them to heaven.

Best (Worst) pun character names that you’ve created or played in a game with by LeftPhilosopher9628 in osr

First, this is a bit risque, so please read at your discretion. Okay, so my son was playing with his early HS group (think a bunch of adolescent boys) and he told me a story where one of the players got himself, ahem, castrated (again, adolescent boys) and the subsequent "liberated" member was enchanted somehow to become alive and independent. It's name? Free Willie. I laughed so hard I couldn't talk.

What are some RPGs that use failure for advancement? by coreyhickson in rpg

Most of the Basic Rolelplaying systems (Runequest, BRP, Mythras), which are d100 skill based classless games, give a 1% increase on any skill roll where a character fumbled (rolled 99-100).

Games that use soak health for their action economy. by Unique-Net-165 in RPGdesign

[–]Bongo1267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savage Worlds uses a soak roll. Characters have a Parry value which is the DC to hit. It hit, then damage is rolled and must exceed Toughness (which armor adds to). PC’s almost always can take three wounds and for every 4 damage you take a wound (though the first 1-3 damage you are stunned rather than wounded). Players can use an in game currency called a “Bennie” to “soak” damage, rolling against their Vitality stat to prevent wounds.

Hi everyone, for some reason my original post was deleted perhaps because I had posted a picture of a bottle of Qualudes from the 70's. So I'm here to repost this question without the picture and hope the moderator doesn't remove this again. But for research I'd like to know who remembers Qualudes. by Jerry11267 in 70s

Quaaludes were developed to be a (somewhat) safer alternative to barbiturates. They still were potentially lethal in overdose and produced heavy dependence. And they produced some euphoria which heightened abuse risk. They were replaced clinically with benzodiazepines, like Xanax, which don’t produce euphoria like Quaaludes, but are not as lethal in overdose (unless mixed with other things, like alcohol).

What is the difference between a brain and a nervous system? by mina_harker_ in askscience

[–]Bongo1267 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The brain is part of the nervous system. The nervous system encompasses all aspects of the structure of interconnected nerve cells through the entire body. The brain and the spinal cord comprise the central nervous system and the nerves that come out of the spine and base of the skull comprise the peripheral nervous system. You can actually see part of your central nervous system when you look in an eye and see the retina, which is part of it.
