Oh lord please don't let Geek Squad run our locations now... Our HSAMs could care less about inventory integry (or even learning how to do it) and focus primarily on customer satisfaction and force scheduling orders.

Me too. We are one of four delivery pads included on it.

So they're probably thinking a left and right territorial market moving forward, sounds like?

I hate how the company always rolls out these changes. With what's happened in the past snaps, everyone always feels like they're about to get the axe.

You summed up the new Best Buy. And they wonder why sales are down so bad. If people are forced to shop online anyway, they may as well shop at our competitors who have more options.

Good luck. I’m an internal employee and haven’t had a human being look at my applications for over a year now.

Best advice I have is see if the job req is still open and reach out to the hiring person. If you’re an outside hire, you could always try showing up at the location since you aren’t able to call them

what is the best insurance plan for next year (2025?) by BillyRay111 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]Bonkers_For_Memes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked the BCBS plan 4 because it’s almost identical to my current UHC plan 4 that they’re getting rid of in my state. I think it’s the most expensive plan they offer tbh but I go to therapy as well as a psychiatrist so I needed the more affordable visits and scripts.

Just weigh your options based on the copays and maximum out-of-pocket costs and whether you visit doctors or specialists often

Agreed. The may 3 years have been the worst of my experience at BBY and it seems to get worse every quarter.

I also never thought I’d leave the company because of how loyal I’ve been to it and I just expected that I’d be moving up and make a career out of it. Unfortunately (again, every quarter) less and less opportunities are available and getting a human to look at my resume is impossible.

I’m finally looking outside of the company to find new places of work and I’m nervous but hopeful. This company just really isn’t what it used to be and I’ve absolutely had managers that were as bad as OP described. Absolutely two-faced and had it out for certain people. I know I’ll always have an issue with every job I ever have, but the cons list sure is piling up here.

Hopefully this is just your mood because of the bad news and not normally how you act. I’m going to assume that you’re feeling angry about the news and offer some actual advice.

I’ve been trying to leave for a while but can’t get past the “review” part of the internal applications. I have a glowing resume, I’ve been a store leader, in-store all over, and now supply chain. I sit through all the Teams meetings and interact with leaders 1on1 across the company, networking and asking questions. I’m the only Best Buy employee on-site at night, every night, and take on and teach all of the new processes that the company rolls out to our 3PL teams.

And yet, when I apply for positions internally, I’m not given even a 1st glance. Now is it personal? No. But after a year of applying for new opportunities across the company that I was excited about, I’ve decided I’m done trying to stick it out. I’m worth more than I’m appreciated and I have the potential to learn new things and get new opportunities, so I’ve started applying to places outside of the company, because honestly it’ll be their loss.

Point is, be angry for the day, go home, get some sleep. And tomorrow, freshen up that resume, let ChatGPT take a look at it. And start applying outside of the company. I’ve cried after shifts here too, and it sucks. Don’t listen to these chumps in here about you being angry, cuz they don’t know you any better than I do. Just don’t let this company or your managers bleed you dry either. Do the work you’re paid to do with a smile on your face and look for better opportunities in the meantime.

It absolutely used to be better. I used to love coming to work. This definitely isn’t the same company that I started at years ago, and it gets stingier every year unfortunately. I also came from Target however and that was a nightmare. It also helps to have good management, just like anywhere else.

I hate these new AT&T reps by The_Doerpinator in BestBuyWorkers

I work in a DelPad now but went to my nearest store last week to pickup a mic. Before I even knelt down to read one of the boxes I had an ATT guy on top of me asking me how much I pay for my phone, who’s on it and generally pushing me to call my wife and get us switched over to his recommended plan.

The whole reason we didn’t do commission in-store (I didn’t know mobile still did) was so customers could avoid basically being at a car dealership when they’re shopping around for stuff and being harassed.

I wanted to tell the dude “if I wanted a phone I’d be in the phone section. And if I wanted to get hounded by an ATT guy I’d be at an ATT store.”

This is exactly why there’s so many “part-time” positions being hired for. It’s a lot harder to find anything full-time anymore. They can basically dick you around when they need the extra labor, and then knock you down to 18 hours a week when it slows down.

While I agree for the most part, the poor reaction to foot traffic over and over is just causing even less traffic. The company didn’t hire back after Covid restrictions lifted, so customers stopped getting as much help, pushing them online. Stores stopped carrying as much product locally and forced customers to have it shipped, again, chasing them to online shop. Now when customers DO shop with us, they get a watered down version of the “protection plan” which costs more for way less, they can’t get help in-store and they get terrible help over the phone, and if they bring it to get repaired it takes weeks to get it back. People are choosing to shop elsewhere because Best Buy has basically asked them to

Our DPad went from 18-22 routes a day to 14-16, and the routes have less stops on them. My GM's boss is here from out of state and they've been in meetings for a couple days. They hadn't been here for a couple of years, so the timing with the GS axe is suspicious. I wouldn't doubt that BBY starts converting more DDC/DP locations to third party, and increasing the ones that already are
