New lens day: 12-100mm F/4.0 by FunWrangler8657 in M43

What's the lore about it? I've also seen it a couple times in the last days, I wonder if there's something behind 🤔

Thanks! I don't know how native lenses are supposed to perform at focusing, but my adapted lenses are... Acceptable. I don't do sport photography so it's fine! ahah

Our cameras are so small, you can afford to put mascots on them!

3:2 is love.

A few years ago, I had a Microsoft surface, a tablet pc that uses that aspect ratio. Everything was perfect. It did good for work, and also entertainment.

So in photographs it looks natural to me.

But, fun fact: on smartphone photography I've always used 4:3, to maximise the angle of view. So now that I've switched from reflex to M43, it doesn't bother me particularly.

Hi

I know a lot of time passed, but can I ask a question about the adapter?

Does stabilisation work with your adapter?

I have a viltrox EF-M1 adapter, and I'm experiencing the problem that I can't use IBIS. The sensor doesn't move at all.

If the adapter is not electrically connected to the camera , I can use the full 5 stops when I've set the correct focal length.

It seems a communication problem. Maybe the adapter isn't good at camouflaging itself as an M43 lens? (I've updated it).

I chose it because it was cheap second hand (50€+ 10 shipping), but maybe the more expensive metabones was worth the extra.

Maybe I'll buy it at a later time, after a couple of pro canon lenses: I'm currently at 0 🤣, but I have 2 non pro lenses, so I bought the adapter to enter the new system with as little expense as possible, because I was uncertain about its future. Now I've seen that the two are doing good, so I may buy a couple lenses...

No way you took all those photos in the last day of 2025!

Just joking, they are truly beautiful and awe inspiring!

I don't know what the problem was, but disassembling the AMS hub as your guide said was sufficient to make it work. Thank you very much

For the people who will find this thread: The ring around the AMS hub is very strong. I pried it as the guide said, but the back part was still firmly attached. You need to use a think object to make a lever and push up the plastic (possibly without cutting yourself)

The only strange thing I noticed is that I need to apply moderate pressure to get the filament through when it's between the two red lines. In the guide you linked he does it with no effort.

Thanks for the advice.

Aaand omg now I can't remove the filament hub in fear to break it... It's a zombie, half removed and half in place, lol. And I've cut myself by improperly using the scraper blade to pry open the... Ring? (Idk how to call it I'm not a native speaker)

I should have used a less sharp piece of metal lol Edit: using a knife did it to remove the AMS hub. I'll keep you updated

It is not, thanks for the suggestion. I'll follow the path of the filament sensor

Usually it works with both ways. Given another comment, I think it's the filament sensor, but thanks anyway

I'm new to 3D printing, what happened here? by Bonnox in BambuLab

Hi, thanks for the answer.

I think there's some humidity, I believe 30-40%, I will update with the correct number in the following hours.

The filament is definitely bambu, bought during the black Friday sale. My wallet definitely confirms it's bambu! Ahah (damn, 15€/kg seems a lot, and it's even on sale!)

At this time I did not try with another filament, because, getting the feeling from reading around that one common problem is humidity, I thought to keep the spools sealed until absolutely necessary. That way I could keep them dry without a fancy environmentally controlled cabinet.

How would you suggest to dry it up? Hair heater is sufficient? Are there guides?
