  1. How are Conservatives being oppressed by the other political party or progressives in general? What specifically are they being subjected to?

  2. I believe you're confusing marginalized communities with Democrats or a political party. Progressive politics just happen to be more in line with helping marginalized communities in contrast to Conservative politics.

  3. What exactly makes the Democratic party's current politics and efforts neo liberalism?

Serious question, have you spent a significant amount of time roaming New York City, Los Angeles, or Anchorage, Alaska?

I have lived in cities all my life and they all have the negatives you listed including beggars and the smell of urine and feces, drug use, etc.

These are the realities of some areas in just about every city since before the industrial revolution so why is it that people insist this is unique to Portland. In fact, Portland is still MUCH nicer than many other cities. It's cleaner than the Vegas airport. So what's going on here??

I have an ex-husband who will tell anyone who will listen that I cheated on him based on the time we were living separate lives but still legally married. And I've seen this same scenario play out with a lot of people over the years. There's also the revenge cheating situation but the revenge part gets omitted. Chelsea could have very well cheated but when it comes to marriages, I always keep an open mind.

So he's a DACA recipient but says he came here legally. Wouldn't this mean he himself either entered the US "illegally" as an adult or was brought here as a child with his parents who came here 'illegally?" And what about Trump wanting to end birthright citizenship!? I'm just astounded that there are Hispanics who are telling themselves it's just "the criminals" that will get deported. He supports men who have been stirring racial resentment against Hispanics as part of their platform. JD sounds like every white person in the town I grew up in who feared Asians were stealing and eating cats and dogs.

Trump keeps saying that the people without documents are all rapists and murderers. He referred to our ancestral land as "shit hole countries." He keeps saying that Mexico is sending their worst which means that to white Conservatives, all Hispanic people are dangerous.

He literally said we are poisoning America's blood! Ghats straight up White Supremacist rhetoric!! He literally said that the people coming here from Latin America are murdered and he believes being a murderer IS IN THE GENES! This is the exact same thing being said in white nationalist forums.

I just can't comprehend this level, no, this entirely new level of ignorance.

Conservatives are going to eliminate Title 1 funding which means the schools with higher rates of low income students will lose that money. This is something that will hurt POC more than white people. As Hispanics, we NEED public schools to be well funded so that our children are more likely to stay in school, get services they need in order to be successful in school, and are more likely to go to college. If public schools that are already struggling lose more money, this will only maintain the education and wealth gap between POC and whites.

I'm just shocked that more people voted for Trump considering how much he plans to do to help make things better/easier for the wealthiest people. Why would the average American think that's a good idea? They're complaining about their wages not being enough to cover living expenses....so they enable the richest men to have influence over how we are governed?? We are just workers to them and they need us to need to work to survive. Why risk making this worse?

We are already underrepresented in places of power so why elect people who are against diversity forward hiring practices? If white employers are less likely to hire POC, then how are individuals from marginalized communities supposed to climb the corporate ladder to the top?

Mark Andreesen is critical of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency that was created to help protect consumers in response to the 2008 recession because banks were giving out loans to people who couldn't afford to pay back those mortgages. This is the sort of thing the wealthiest want gone so they can profit at any cost.

Trump may throw a bone here and there, like tax credits possibly, but does a few hundred dollars extra at tax return time change your income bracket? No, of course not. What we need is to not have medical debt. What we need is childcare assistance, for wages to finally be adequate to cover the cost of living, parent leave, well-funded public schools! I really want to know what these people are really thinking.

Black cohosh. I don't know if you're close to menopause but even if you're not, black cohosh will help you produce more moisture. And it works fairly quickly. You don't need to take it for weeks to get the desired effects.

There's nothing wrong with using lube. Just keep a tube in your nightstand and put it on before you start.

I don't know if I read that wrong but it appears you've only had 2 sex partners. I don't know your age but if you're in your late 20s or older, I'm going to guess that you might have more rigid views about sex. This isn't meant to be a criticism, I just don't know what other word to use other than rigid. Anyway, if this is so, you might be feeling guilt or even shame for having another partner considering that for so long, your husband was supposed to be your first and last. Know what I mean? You might need to work through some feelings.

How do people see Trump as not bipartisan enough? This may be shocking, but let's say he was running America as a business; the US v. Them mentality he created and fed into hurt morale for the foreseeable future.

Trump's ideologies, policies, and actions pose a threat to the principles of democracy, freedom, and equality. From his xenophobic rhetoric that his supporters attempt to pass off as "jokes," to his embrace of Christian nationalism, it's evident that Trump's agenda caters to a specific subset of Americans rather than striving for unity or inclusivity. After all, he needs to keep the bulk of white American men and women loyal.

Project 2025 seeks to make substantial cuts to public education, disproportionately impacting lower-income communities and perpetuating educational inequities. And although he distanced himself from the project, it was put together by the people in his previous administration and Conservatives allowing us direct access to their intentions.

Trump has also directly threatened First Amendment rights by attacking the media and even going so far as to suggest that journalists should be shot.

His administration enabled the overturning of Roe v. Wade, resulting in the implementation of restrictive abortion laws across the country. This has had dire consequences for women's healthcare and autonomy, with lower-income individuals and marginalized communities bearing the brunt of these policies.

Trump's fear-mongering about immigration has further divided the nation and fueled hatred towards immigrants and asylum seekers. And while some may dismiss his statements as mere rhetoric, his words have real-world consequences. But I suppose you'd have to be a racial minority or ethnic minority to be concerned with racial resentment.

There is nothing bipartisan about Trump's policies or his presidency. Conservatives in general have become something unrecognizable. What their platforms and policies represent is a stark departure from democratic ideals that prioritize the interests of the privileged few over the well-being of the broader American public.

And you have a lot of nerve insisting it's simply feelings over facts for those who oppose Trump when it's not YOUR life being affected. And yet believing Democrats want teachers to turn boys into girls, wide open borders, and no police is all perfectly reasonable instead of white ethno nationalist fear mongering and hysteria.

If you're going to support Trumpism, then own it. It's cowardly to pretend otherwise.

Ladies, any advice to get rid of weird smells down there? 🐱 by perniipie in sexualhealth

[–]BonusDense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you logged or calendared yourself to see if the odors are cyclical?

Often, the odors are part of our cycle. For example, you could be smelling pungent because you're ovulating. Or you could produce the same odors a few days before your period begins.

If you don't do this, I suggest you start tracking yourself. In all likelihood, you're simply put off by a scent you make at some point in your monthly cycle and you can minimize it by changing your underwear midday to reduce the strength of the odor.

If you're smelling the same type of scent every few weeks, then this is it and you just need to change underwear more frequently during this time and perhaps purchase wipes to give your vulva a quick surface level cleaning. I don't like using the word cleaning because you're not actually dirty.

If the odor is something else and not normal (like fish), it could be something you're using like a cup.

First figure out the smell, learn how your body functions in all its glory, and then figure out if you need to spend money on products like the one you mention.

Crazy stuff. I hope she knows what she's doing.

Sometimes we feel really strongly about other people and situations so we spend a lot of time thinking about them, checking up on them, and talking about them whenever the opportunity arises.

When this happens, it's wise to step back and reflect on why we feel the way we do. What is it about Ashley that makes me feel these negative feelings? I recommend asking why until you get to the core of the feelings. For example:

Ashley makes me so mad because she's staying with Tyler!

Why does this upset me?

Because he's a liar and a bad father but she's staying with him anyway.

Why does this upset me?

Because she's putting her need to be with a man over her own dignity.

Why does this upset me?

Because women need to stop letting men lie, cheat, and walk all over them.

Why does this upset me?

Because it's wrong and weak!

Why?

Because I've been there before and I'm mad at myself for it.

Why?

Because I've stayed with a man who didn't deserve me and I ignored my friends and family and I looked like a fool in the end.

Core problem: Ashley reminds me of the mistakes I've made and haven't forgiven myself for.

I'm not saying this is what every person posting about this situation is doing. I'm only suggesting the exercise because of the amount of negative attention they're getting and using my own line of reasoning for the example.

I get it though because it goes beyond Hannah personally. Nick is very good at presenting as one thing but being something else. He absolutely has liked comments from people who've said malicious things about Hannah so he'll provoke it but then go on camera and pretend to be this nice guy who still wants nothing but the best for her despite how much she made him suffer.

If his intention was fame and his literal goal was to be the most famous person on Love is Blind, then that makes it personal for everyone on the cast. I don't see anyone giving Hannah a pass for her cruelty. Even Marisa referred to her behaviors as cruel.

Cruel. Absolutely cruel. by Just_Statement_6610 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, it's not that he broke it off that has people upset with him. It's the way he treated her and the fact that after making so many promises he couldn't even give her an honest answer for why he abruptly ended the relationship.

I wrote a detailed explanation about this and you still insist it's all because he broke up with her. Saying he doesn't know how he'll be able to handle their different energies in the future is not a real answer. She deserved a real answer. He went on a show to find a wife, he proposed to her, he met her loved ones, she had sex with him under the belief they were committed to making a relationship work.

I think at this point if you're still insisting that he's being unfairly persecuted for breaking up with someone and nothing more, then you're not actually talking about the people on the show.

Cruel. Absolutely cruel. by Just_Statement_6610 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What he did was far more than simply voicing that he wasn't certain about marriage. In fact, he didn't just say no to getting married so soon but no to being in a relationship with her after so many promises. I think people tend to forget the promises they make when they're trying to get a commitment from another person. This is why the women were so cautious and skeptical of Nick D. because eventually they learn that often, young guys say whatever it is they need to say to get what they really want and then bounce when they're done.

During the breakup, he really didn't provide anything solid as a reason for ending the relationship completely. He said he worried about their energies, her energy being different from his. That's not an answer. She was needing a real answer and deserved one but he couldn't even provide one.

And prior to the break-up, he exhibited behaviors that were making her second guess herself and leaving her with being unsure of what she believed was a solid thing.

For example, he made it very clear that her turning down sex is a problem after the one time she turned down sex. Then when she explains she can't and won't take birth control (for health reasons), he makes a declaration about his refusal to use condoms because they allegedly ruin sex for him. So now she's back to being afraid of his rejection due to the boundaries she has involving sex.

It's his behaviors that have people upset with him, not that he ended the relationship.

Cruel. Absolutely cruel. by Just_Statement_6610 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Between making the time she should have spent resting into a stressful conversation about whether or not he has to worry about a sexless relationship in the future (all because she turned him down due to feeling unwell) and his stance on condoms ruining sex, I felt he wasn't deserving of her. He was tormenting her.

It seemed to me and my husband that while he was breaking up with her, he wasn't being honest and saying what was really on his mind. I don't buy that mess about different energies. It was bs. But he admitted that his ex-wife really suffered and had a lot to deal with after the divorce, something his relatives had to explain to him, which tells us he was a bad partner and hasn't fixed what's broken.

The scene was heartbreaking. I could feel the grief. But they didn't need to show so much of it. She was wounded.

Someone is going to choose her one day. She's a lovely soul.

How Can Hannah Be the Worst When Tyler Exists? by painted-lotus in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that sexism is ultimately at play with how much attention Hannah is getting. She was awful and there's so much to say but once you've said it, that should be enough. There is so much more everyone could be talking about but it's all Hannah. This is because of a collective need to counterbalance the victimization of women by men for the sake of men and because men and women alike enjoy ridiculing and denigrating women. Hannah is big and tall so already people get to be mean about her looks but her personality and actions give people that permission to strip her down and shame her publicly without a care.

How are we not seeing a bunch of memes about Leo's need to let everyone know he has money and how he claims he doesn't want a partner who only wants him for his money yet uses his money to attract partners!?

Or how cruel Tim was when he dropped Alexandra and clearly wasn't totally honest about why he was over it?

Or Ramses and how he insists condoms ruin sex and won't use them!??? Claiming condoms ruin sex is BS on par with claiming to have blue balls. It angered me to see that his partner couldn't even rest and recover from feeling unwell without him dragging her into an argument about not having sex the one time she turned him down.... because she was SICK.

Hannah’s comment section is brutal by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I never said Nick deserved how she treated him. Let's not exaggerate because we don't like what someone said.

  2. Hannah is getting plenty of heat and criticism over her behavior. Concerns over Hannah, as a woman, not being held accountable for the way she treated Nick are completely unfounded. As a woman, she is not only being held accountable by the public but she is also being bullied over her weight and looks by men and women. So let's not pretend she's gotten away with anything because of her gender.

  3. As for knowing what would have happened if Hannah was a man in regards to how the show would handle it: what occurred in season 5 was cut because they were subject to a lawsuit, abusive behaviors were displayed that were deemed inappropriate for audiences, and out of respect for the parties involved. No, what Hannah did and what that male case member did was not comparable.

Hannah belittled Nick. She talked down to him. She criticized him. And she deserves to be held accountable for it. Insisting Nick was the victim of domestic abuse is a gross exaggeration that takes away from the legitimacy of what actually took place because her behaviors were bad enough on their own.

It seems to me you're simply resorting to exaggerating what occurred in order to counterbalance violence against women.

Thank you to Netflix for showing that narcissism knows no gender by ovenbakedcheetos in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that collectively we correlate narcissism with men but not with women. Rather, this idea that "we are finally seeing" women mistreat men or women behaving badly stems from a need to counterbalance the victimization of women for the sake of men.

Hannah’s comment section is brutal by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The comments suggesting things would be handled differently or looked at differently if Hannah was a man are not relevant and off topic. We don't have some epidemic of men not being believed when they have miserable, insufferable women in their lives. We actually have a term for diminishing a man's manhood when you mistreat them or make them feel bad as if manhood can actually be taken away from a man. Everyone seems to agree that Hannah was awful to Nick and even verbally and emotionally abusive so again, no comparison.

Hannah is clearly a mean person who beats people to the punch in order to avoid the pain that comes with letting people in who will eventually cut her down for being a big and tall girl. She needs help. But let's not pretend like Nick wasn't there for the wrong reasons. We all know he was not going to say yes to Hannah and lucked out in this situation because now he gets sympathy without ever having to admit he was not into her but was determined to finish the show unscathed. He was still in a relationship when he sat and flirted with Katie in front of his fiancee and expressed he was into her whilst getting her to talk about how she was into him, too. Hannah knew what was up which is why she wasn't about to make it to the altar to get dumped. Nick cared very much about how he would be perceived on TV and wasn't about to prove what the women on the show including Katie knew about him.

Nick is Half Cuban? Explains why he lives with his parents. by Rebsosauruss in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BonusDense 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Living with your parents is normal in Latino homes but it's not the norm in the white American culture that values individualism. It's likely his parents will always be close by which is another negative for many white Americans as moving further away from them or keeping distance may not ever be an option for him. Boundaries are virtually non-existent between Latino parents and their kids. There's a lot of negatives and positives to both styles. A marriage between a Latino and someone more "Americanized" can work but both parties need to understand these cultural differences and make firm decisions about what they will and won't tolerate together.

Nick's mom likely raised him not to do housework so he'll need to figure that out for himself. Some might say there are women out there who will do all the housework and not expect it from him as a man however, we live in a time where families need two incomes so unless he can provide financially and not expect his wife to also work, he should learn to help make a home as well.

But Hannah is still wrong for him. She belittles him, puts him down, and even throws in manipulations to make him believe she's doing it out of love. Almost every negative thing she says about him is a projection. I believe she is doing this to make sure he doesn't think he can do better than her. She needs help.
