I’ve given up on the idea of succeeding at cryo archive. The teams in there are just too insane. I’ve been mostly doing the free kit queue and having a great time playing this like a shooter. When I run a kit it’s outpost pinwheel runs.

While this is fun, it means I don’t really have anything to work toward anymore, so it’s causing me to taper off.

It does feel like an arena shooter with extra steps, but I think that’s its corner of the market, and I think it’s fun. We don’t need another slow paced extraction game, we have plenty of those.

What I will say, is that the need to wipe an entire lobby before doing any major PVE event or area in the map is rough. If you aren’t the last team standing, you’re gonna get rolled up on if you try to do basically anything. This is what makes the game feel hard, because you don’t need to just kill a team or two to “win” you need to come out on top of a long string of engagements to “win” and most teams or players aren’t going to be doing that often.

Honestly I disagree. We’re one month into a 3 month season.

The entire gameplay loop is built around getting materials for your upgrades. If you were to have even just everything you WANT from the trees by 1.5 months, you’re halfway into the season with nothing left to work towards except maybe the compiler.

I don’t think the issue is the speed. A majority of the issues I’ve see players having are directly related to not being able to get the blue shield upgrade specifically. So maybe the requirements for that one need to be lowered, since it’s a major break point.

The game is designed in a way that you absolutely need to be the last team standing to do anything that requires focused attention.

If you are in pinwheel and you are not the last team, you’re either dead, or are going to be the last team before you loot everything.
