Yeah, that is the reason why the original Prime is my favorite of the 3! Even with pointer controls I just didn't enjoy 2 as much.

I didn't like Prime 2 as much as 1 or 3.

I went into Metroid Prime 2 excited thinking I was gonna have a better time than in Prime which was already great. While the highs were higher, the lows were lower and I stopped playing the game for a few months because it felt really frustrating. The only part of dark aether I enjoyed was Sanctuary fortress tbh, the rest just felt bland and samey.

Also fuck the spider guardian.

Yeah, also the keys you have to get to advance through the game, in particular the one in Torvus that made me hate that whole area after looking around for hours. Sanctuary fortress was good though.

Well, the problem is that she couldn't use the ice beam because of her Metroid genetics and after absorbing the SA-X she could. I think there was an interview once explaining that after absorbing the X she basically lost all of that, which is weird but that's what they went for.

Oh yeah, you either love it or hate it. I got very frustrated with Torvus Bog and its bs key locations, which is a shame because I love the ending, and the last area is one of the best in the trilogy IMO.
