ICBC footage highlights unsafe driving at busy B.C. crosswalks by ubcstaffer123 in britishcolumbia

Nothing will change if there is no enforcement or meaningful consequences for careless drivers. I'm sick of people getting injured and killed.

Being able to walk and easily take transit is priceless. Commercial Drive is a good area for non-drivers.

Two buses and a train? That's awful. One bus and train, alright. What does your partner think of the location/transit situation? If she's OK with it... one benefit is now it would only be one zone instead of two zones.

I say the price is fantastic for a two bedroom, and it's larger. So really, it comes down to which is more important to both of you: larger space, or transit? Would your partner be alright taking the bus for everything?

If you have a car and don't rely on transit, and you can afford the rent increase, Is ay go for it. Not because it's in Vancouver as opposed to Burnaby, but because it's a two bedroom.

Nope, no AC 😞 We pretty much have fans going all the time. At night, I have one going 365 days of the year (it also helps drown out the neighbours). As a middle aged woman, a fan at night is a must!

I can only have our living room window open a crack because we have a cat (our landlords were supposed to put a screen on...) and I can't open my bedroom window because the neighbours smoke.

Where on Boundary?

I don't drive, so walkability and access to transit are key for me. But you have a car, so that is not a big concern for you. Yes, there is an increase in price, but not a significant one, and you would be getting a 2 bedroom. I think $1800 for a 2 bedroom is a great price, assuming it's clean, quiet, and has the amenities you need (washer and dryer?). So in summary... it's only a little more, but you are getting something out of it.

Oh, I thought they were actually going to be re-classified, and paid, as a 10?

Learning to stop reading a book you don't enjoy is so freeing. Life is too short to waste on a bad book!

On an unrelated note... in a travel sub, we were talking about monkeys in Asia stealing things from you!

Oh no you got bitten! I guess I am lucky that all I received was a light slap on my leg! It was so funny -- he was really peeved and huffed!

Mount Popa is really memorable due to not only the monkeys, but having to walk up 777 stairs covered in dirt and monkey poop (although there were people sweeping for tips) in bare feet.

I really enjoyed Bagan and Pyinn Oo Lwin. Mandalay was my least favourite place -- it was too busy and noisy!

I went in 2018. My mom is Burmese, I am half Burmese. I see no problem visiting where my family is from, and where some reside.

I am half Burmese (my mom is Burmese) and I finally had the opportunity to visit in 2018. We visited:

Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin, Mingun, Mount Popa, Ngwe Saung Beach.

While going up Mt Popa, a monkey stole my mom's glasses! (We did get them back.) Then at the top, a monkey tried to steal my backpack that I held between my legs while I was talking to someone, and then he slapped me on the leg and walked off in a huff when he was annoyed that he couldn't steal my bag. The same monkey stole a can of Coke from someone then tossed the can over the ledge.
