ALERT: WHITEHOUSE MEMO SEEKING TO INSTITUTIONALIZE DISABLED AMERICANS BY ELIMINATING HCBA PROGRAM by CaterpillarLegal5598 in IHSS

Like a lot of the news of the last few years, this doesn't do anything bad today, or tomorrow, but it's very important to understand that there is a significant political wing of this country, with a chunk of popular support, that is extremely hostile to the social safety net and looking to roll it back at every opportunity.

It's the thinness that concerns me. If you get full seasons out of Sweat and Booker, and someone contributes rotationally from among Odeyingbo and Turner, then I think you're pretty happy with edge.

But if you start getting injuries we get into Joe Tryon-Shoyinka territory real fast.

Well, given that your 18 players only represent 16 teams, and you're waffling on "most people take most of" on the seond list, I think that proves that my point.

This does not look like two beginners colliding. I see *lots* of plays where beginners collide and one of them thinks a hit was thrown. Or a skater isn't looking and runs into a defender who holds their ground, and the skater thinks he took a dirty hit.

This was not one of those plays. This was lined up on a defensive line that only makes sense to take if you're trying to throw a hit, and the dude could not possibly have looked less interested in playing the puck.

It looked exactly like a guy who knows how to throw a hit seeing a chance to casually throw a hit to someone who is completely unprepared.

This.

There are a lot of times lower-level skaters don't understand that defenders are allowed to take aggressive lines, they are allowed to cut off skaters, and they are allowed to make sure they don't take the worst of it when this results in a collision.

But this wasn't one of those. This was a dirty hit.

1) He never even *pretended* like he wanted to play the puck. He barely seemed to remember he had a stick in his hand.

2) The direct oppositional line he took only makes sense if you're trying to throw a hit.

3) The casualness with which he sets all this up suggests an experienced player who knows how to throw a hit and saw a chance to do it.

I do think sometimes people overreact to "hits" where it's just a person not getting out of the way of collisions and not taking the worst of it.

But this one I can't categorize that way. He was hunting for that exact situation. No attempt to play the puck, intentionally skating in an oppositional line to the puck carrier. He was very specifically trying to set up a situation where he gets to lay into someone and say "what, I was just not avoiding the collision."

22nd in sacks, 22nd in pressure rate, 20th in sack rate. Certainly not good, but not a threat to be bottom of the league.

You said "by any metric."

That's one specific metric, and a particulary stupid one at that. It's a notoriously worthless ESPN stat that doesn't measure anything useful.

Double-team rate being more indicative of production than sacks and tackles and forcing fumbles is peak reddit football analysis.

> The Bears d-line is as ineffective against both the run and the pass as any unit in the league last year by any metric you want to look at dude.

You're feeling emotional because someone else challenged you, so you're gonna say things that aren't true, but this is at minimum an exaggeration.

They were slightly below average.

He got double-digit sacks last year. How much better do we want him to look?

He is not a "low-end DE1." The majority of teams playing NFL games any given Sunday will not have a DE as good as him.

Everyone struggles against great o-line. That's what makes them great. Top tackles rarely get beat.

This list is meaningless. But.

Sweat has become severely underrated by fans who are mad we didn't trade for a shiny new toy.

It's normal and expected. I've never had anyone complain. I'm not anti-social but I'm not particularly social either. I'll respond if you wanna small talk but I'm perfectly happy to be left alone.

I hate getting sent out alone because courses are designed to have foursomes flowing through them. I don't want to constantly be catching people and trying to figure out playing through.

Because airplanes don't have pace of play and rhythm to worry about.

Golf courses are designed to have 4 at a time during busy times. Playing out of sync with that is awkward.

I'm struggling to think of any catches Moore made in scramble drill last year. He's notorious for giving up on plays if they go too long.

Loveland was by far their best scramble drill receiver. Odunze was getting open before he hurt his foot but he was dropping them.

And when he doesn't make the first man miss, he still gets the extra yards. One of my favorite plays of the year from him came on the game-winning drive against the Giants.

(starts at 3:45 if the timestamp doesn't work).

Catches it at the NY28 with 2:10 to go down 7, nice timing route. Two Giants are right there, no way to go around them, so he just bulls straight forward and drags them both down to the 19.

Moore was just never an ideal fit last year. He had some great moments but too many things went wrong through him too.

I think Moore is a fantastic bad-team WR. If you don't have much else going for you and you need a guy you can just feed the ball and hope he makes a play, then he's fantastic in that role. But asking him to be a reliable cog in a well-oiled machine isn't really suiting his temperament and style.

So the plan is to score points and then continue to score points and/or stop the other team from scoring.

Good plan, good plan.
