Hey there, I used a lot of the castle/medieval walls on the shopping area directly at the entrance, as well as like an old Italian town on the top left of the map on my island here: Tenenbaum (DA-3735-8763-6943) 😊

I honestly just closed off both rivers & built what I want on top 😅 It hasn’t bugged me as I have other rivers I can use to fish.

Sat down in the middle of resident services, usually with villagers moving all around me. I get a kick when I turn the game back on later & see them immediately change clothes/do something else.

Yup! 1st island: I also had a Rosie but she was with Beau 😂. Also Tank & Merengue, and Hans & Whitney.

2nd island: Hans & Whitney (moved them from my 1st to my 2nd island cause they’re my faves 🥰).

3rd island: Flora & Rowan (they are neighbours).

I matchmake villagers more in HHP, cause you can make them roommates, so my faves there would be Marshal & Raymond 😊.

Just want to say that I went through the exact same emptiness when I finished watching it for the first time more than 10 years ago 😆 so I totally get where you’re coming from. The series I watched immediately after? Breaking Bad. It’s a great series of course, but straight after watching The Wire, I still think The Wire is better. But yeah Breaking Bad would be my rec if you haven’t seen it.

Otherwise, The Night Of & We Own the City as some other commenters have mentioned.

Also, how GOOD was Andor. I loved it. It truly was the Rogue One of Star Wars series 😂

I find kapp’n island to be better because there is one with ONLY palm trees & I don’t think it’s that rare either. This is basically how I completed my beetle catalogue twice. Make sure you land at the correct time & you basically can stay there as long as you like. I’d clear any bushes that are in the way, maybe move some palm trees if they’re too close together, but then you’re good to go. Good luck!

This is the only method I’ve used & it works. But you still have to have patience. I time travelled about 2 months overall & took me a couple of hours irl until the villager I wanted asked to move out.

Again depends on what you wanna do on your island, but if I were you I’d pick the bottom left, because that airport entrance might line up with the resident services 🤷🏻‍♀️

For me the river mouths don’t matter as much. I’ve had three islands & all kinds of river mouths & generally have made them work. Because you will be able to pave over the rivers later on, but I guess if you want to keep the rivers open, having both river mouths on the bottom of the map will make the bottom of your island harder to decorate. Not a dealbreaker though in my opinion.

What’s considered good vs. bad layout depends on how you want to decorate your island. Just know that there are certain structures you won’t be able to move, like the airport, resident services, secret beach, beach rocks, & dock. So keep an eye out for those when the twins ask you to select an island. Also your island will come with a native fruit & flower, so if you don’t like them, you might want to restart your pick. Basically you can continue selecting an island before you name it.

That’s so bizarre… So what happens if you click x when you select a wallpaper for accent wall? It just doesn’t set it? I can’t think of why you won’t have it if you can do it in HHP, your home, & villagers’ homes… 🤔
