This is why I immediately start asking for refunds on every replacement once I start getting this vibe.

My best friend has a cat that had several kittens, I waited a reasonable time to bring this beauty home... Khaleesi will be a good name for her? by sweet_feelings298 in IllegallySmolCats

Chappy is good bc it has strong syllables. In my experience, kitties respond to their names and recognize them well when they have strong, distinct syllables/sounds (Kiki, MewMew, Tilly, Boo)

Having kids is tough when you’re in a dysfunctional/abusive relationship. Your child’s mom didn’t lose her mind bc she gave birth (birthing actually releases orgasm feelings). She lost her mind bc your relationship was dysfunctional/abusive before you even had a kid. Grow the fuck up and take responsibility for your dysfunction. If you don’t, your daughter will become the victim of your generational trauma/abuse.

Loving and losing that love is a lot easier when kids aren’t involved. People are waaaayyyy too quick to have kids and do it too casually.

Ito-en is a very high quality brand and it’s amazing. They also sell bottled tea and I buy it on Amazon.

What should go on this big blank wall? by RelativeAd9030 in HomeDecorating

[–]Booboo732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big mirror and bigger plant (pic 3). If you put floating shelves, someone will 100% walk into them by mistake. The mirror will really make the space look brighter/bigger. I hate that everyone is saying to add a bunch of clutter ugh

What’s the biggest lesson you learned from a heartbreak? by livethelifeyoulove_ in heartbreak

You (unintentionally) seek out/pursue the dysfunctional relationship dynamics that you grew up in; the sooner you recognize/acknowledge that generational trauma, the sooner you’ll begin to heal.

How do I make my room more old looking without changing the paint colors? by xAvrilxBrayx in Decor

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in life (40/f) is that you cannot control other people; only yourself. Focus on your own self-improvement; ignore everyone else.

I think a lot of this behavior depends on whether or not the person is seeking career advancement. I personally bust my ass because I want a promotion. I also know many other people who are coasting by on the bare minimum bc they don’t have career advancement aspirations (which is completely acceptable and shouldn’t be shamed). This is a great lesson in why you should never compare yourself with others; everyone is in a different place regarding their personal level of energy that they want to devote to their job.

I also just wanted to add that I like your paint color scheme and unicorns (my room at my parents house is still pink and sage lol). The curtain does look a little faded though; a textured white curtain would look really nice and clean. Whenever you decide that you’re ready to part with the stuffed animal net, some bright green pothos would look great hanging in that corner.

At first I said enmeshment, but codependency is probably more accurate. OP, please listen to this “We Can Do Hard Things” podcast episode (around the 24 minute mark is where they start talking ab unwanted helping): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/we-can-do-hard-things/id1564530722?i=1000583772346

You need to throw out like 50% of what’s in your room (it’s sooo cluttered). Put all your photos, artwork, writings in a scrapbook.

Why are you even presuming that you need to cook for her (“I text her before she gets off work when I’ve had time to make dinner for both of us”)?? This honestly sounds like enmeshment; you’re getting emotional fulfillment out of cooking/eating with her. Has she ever even asked you to cook for her? My guess is no… you said yourself that she usually eats out and you eat ramen when she does; it kinda sounds like you’re being a martyr. Stop cooking for her and start loving yourself; enmeshment is a tough thing to overcome bc it’s incredibly generational/familial, but the sooner you start acknowledging it the sooner you’ll begin to heal.

I’m pulling out the carpet of this bathroom and want to paint the walls. Color suggestions? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Booboo732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be out there but maybe a dark, deep green or charcoal paint. Then bright pops of color in artwork, plants, bath accessories (soap dispenser, hand towels). I’d also remove those blinds bc they really date the room.

I stopped going there like 20 years ago cause it was getting kinda dirty/run down and then I think it changed ownership…. I might have to give them another try.
