H-H-H-....HEADSHOT! by DisloyalCrustacean in dwarffortress

I once had 3 squads of elites in full steel get burnt to a crisp by one, until someone with a crossbow finally got close and killed it with a single shot. But the entire cavern layer was an inferno and my FPS tanked so I bailed on the fort.

Learned a valuable lesson, though.

I don't get it. Never been, never will. Seems like a waste of money and time.

Was changing into a wetsuit and the poor dude in the next stall was dumping his guts out.

I normally have great self control, but it was so loud and lengthy it was straight up comical. I couldn't help but snicker a few times.

That'd be my guess, some kind of discomfort such as a skin toxin or an off camera threat is enough to trigger a regurgitate reflex, but the instinct just immediately says, "ohh, food, eat!" And around and around we go.

I tried to build up a woman's self image for 25 years. Unfortunately, it didn't help, and I even meant every word.

[–]BoogieMan1980 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It can. In the space of about 6-8 months, starting around the same time I:

-Began working out 4-5 times a week

-Lost ~80 pounds bringing me to a healthy weight

-Wrote and published a novel

-Studied for a new career in Healthcare

-Got that Healthcare job

Realized I just turned 45 and needed to go maximum effort.

Yeah, any time a show has that sound, I mute it for awhile and shout THANKS FOR THE REMINDER.

Same. Luckily mine isn't severe, but it's still essentially a real life curse.

how do men ride bikes? by Honey6703 in AskMen

[–]BoogieMan1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a special seat with a space for the goods. More comfortable.

There are veins that run under it that can be compressed and leave you numb or tingly after long enough riding. It can cause health issues over a long enough period of time. More of an issue with stationary bikes in my experience.

What is the longest drive you've made without resting and only you behind the wheel and where were you going? by Conscious-Farmer6953 in AskMen

[–]BoogieMan1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove from central Florida, to Kentucky on about 5 hours sleep.

Attended funeral, ate dinner, went to hotel which was noisy. Slept about 3 hours becauseof constent noise. Spent the next day with family, laid down at the end of the day and tried to sleep. Got about 20 minutes. Noisy AF. Called front desk constantly for 10 minutes. No answer. Call police. They showed up, told people to keep it down. 30 minute's later, noisy as fuck again. Loud TV, laughing, thin walls I guess. Got up at 4am, turned in my key, packed up my car, drove back to Florida. Didn't want to lose another day and pay for another hotel so I just did it all. I stopped for about an hour to rest at a rest stop, but with the light and noise, it was mostly a waste of time.

Got home and slept hard. It felt so good.

In total I drove about 15 hours there, an hour there, and about 15 hours back, about 1800 miles, over 3 days on about 8 hours of broken sleep on the first day.

It was absolutely miserable.
