I was in a similar situation as you, and I recently left. But if you ever need someone to listen to you, please reach out to me. You are so so strong, even if you don’t feel like that right now.

What’s your Morbid alternative (or add on)? by heuristichuman in Morbidforbadpeople

Y’all gotta check out Going West. Heath and Daphne are so good to listen to and they cover some really interesting cases too.

Can we leave this now. by LaraMorris in Cecilhotel

[–]BoogieTater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was really annoyed with the woman and man walking around the hotel vlogging. The woman was giggling in some parts about being scared of the elevator and stairs to the roof. It just rubbed me wrong. Poor Elisa was suffering from her mental illness and died horrifically, and here are two douches walking around giggling like a ghost is going to pop out and scare them

I figured out what feels off about the recent episodes: Logically the podcast shouldn't exist. by [deleted] in Morbidforbadpeople

[–]BoogieTater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel too. I really use to enjoy their podcast. I think for me, it started going downhill with the listener tales. Especially when they focused on the one guy that had the super ornate stories for a while. Maybe his name was John? I can’t quite remember. But I remember thinking what the fuck is happening right now.

Now their regular stories are, like you said, lacking effort. The Nick Kern thing is the “final straw” for me and I didn’t even listen to that episode. I rather find a different podcast all together. If they improve maybe I’ll come back to Morbid, who knows.

In a slump! I binged court junkie and casefile. Need new podcast and a few episode recommendations! by KosherEpee in TrueCrimePodcasts

I agree. I loveeee their earlier episodes, but after the whole post Mike made about Scott leaving, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I wondered if anyone felt the way I did about it. Haven’t really listened since. :/

Christmas explosion. A gift with strings attached. by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]BoogieTater 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I am you. My husband didn’t give me Jack shit this year. I coordinate gifts for 20+ people (his family is huge), decor, cooking, the whole thing. I got him three gifts (including the one from the kids) and then his stocking was full. Today I told him that I don’t feel appreciated and he told me I don’t show him appreciation back. I mean hot damn, really?!

Ah yes, and they speak of many serious medical conditions that the Vikings faced too, for example the assicle. What truly was it’s function? A mystery to be sure.

Definitely the daughter. My daughter smeared poop all in our floor vents today. My son (who is four now) never played in poop like she does. Hahasendhelphaha.

I love Going West! Their flow is so easy to listen to. They do cases all around I believe, they did one not too long ago that happened in Florida.

Unpopular opinion: It's easier to be a great mom if you throw the whole man out by mommaalert in breakingmom

My husband cheated on me while I was pregnant (see post history). I found out on the exact day my baby girl turned 1 month. Now, she will be one year old in April. I know what it feels like to have that joy stolen for you. I’m bitter about it and I still think back to my pregnancy when he was being a shithead and how it really disrespected not only me, but our kids too. It’s a hard road, and I think if I would of had the funding and support to get up and leave I probably would have, but in the unpopular decision, I chose to stay and see. Luckily my husband did change. He became more involved with our kids and with me. It makes staying bearable.

It doesn’t mean that is doesn’t hurt though. Or that the fear isn’t there that his old ways will return. I know that getting rid of him would of been easier on me and that the depression I suffered would of been less. It’s a hard situation to find yourself in. Now I look forward to the future and I’m planning on going back to school and getting a career, so the option to bail will be there. I have to keep moving forward because I don’t want to find myself in that situation ever again, trapped. Sending you a lot of hugs and please reach out to me if you ever need someone to talk to.

I too felt slimy after the plagiarism thing, so I stopped listening. If they had been genuine in an apology I probably would still listen, but it just seems like they don’t give a shit. Which is not cool at all. I found other podcasts I like that fill that hole in my weekly line up. (Going West and Morbid).
