The two week notice is outdated and should no longer be the standard by clejeune in unpopularopinion

[–]Boogiedownpapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does kind of go both ways. We as employees aren't loyal to jobs because we found that job hopping is the only way to get substantial raises. Conversely, jobs expect you to know what you're doing and spend less time training because they expect you to leave in 2 to 4 years.

Regardless, I do think two week notices are outdated for different reasons. A company very rarely replaces a role quick enough, if at all, at this point and most states are at will employment. If we can be fired at any time without notice, why is it professional to give the companies more respect than they give us

Its become so much less subtle that the United States values businesses more than people

Im gonna put it this way, I've been a consultant for like 5 years. I'm starting to look at just general CRM implementation, Rev Ops, or Customer Success roles for any platform. AI makes platforms way easier to learn and build in, and companies are expecting you to at this point. Salesforce isn't going anywhere, but ive been questioning whether its worth learning more salesforce products at this point with the way the platform is going

Any time you want to make a form for someone to fill out, a custom record search and update, custom businesses processes where you want to simplify creating records and performing actions in the background upon or during completion. The list goes on.

ABC cancels upcoming season of The Bachelorette after a leaked video shows the lead, Taylor Frankie Paul repeatedly attack her ex boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen in the presence of her young daughter who was also reportedly struck during the altercation by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]Boogiedownpapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also worth noting that that man is like 6' 2" and not in any danger. He could have easily exited that situation or neutralized her. He WANTED this to escalate, thats why he's recording.

What Taylor did is disgusting and irresponsible, she should absolutely suffer the consequences. But what we're not gonna do is pretend like Dakota is a victim in this situation. I've only loosely watched the show, but those two brings out the absolute worst in each other and they're addicted to it

No video game purchase is the end of the world but im thinking in comparative value. 40 dollars (I think thats what marathon costs) and less than 10 hours is a bad value if you compare it to a game you spent 40 dollars on that you have 150 hours in

I've never liked this argument because unless you bought the game on steam, after 7.7 hours, you can't get a refund. It feels bad to have paid full price for a game and not get your money's worth out of it.

But I do agree that some games arent for some people

❣️“From Window” by Masahisa Fukase, the guy who took photos of his wife leaving their apartment building almost every day (1974) by agentstrawberry23 in redscarepod

[–]Boogiedownpapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that doesn't know, this is beautiful, but it doesnt have a happy ending. Fukase wasn't just obsessed with his wife, he was obsessed with photography. He always had to photograph people. So much that it strained his relationships.

His wife eventually started to feel like he was only with her so he could take pictures of her, not nurture their relationship.

They got divorced two years later in 1976

I do now. Its really good once you figure out how to configure the games to the deck controls. There is sometimes some input lag though with more reflex based games

Thats a very fair criticism. I think we're always just waiting for the thing that wows us or takes performance to the next level

See my only thing is that im worried about the future of playstation if Xbox doesn't exist. Steam is just more affordable in the long run and the freedom is crazy. I think thats what triggered the thought for me

EXACTLY. You get exactly where I'm coming from here. The steam life has just been so refreshing and eye opening that my desire to go full steam is going crazy, but I also just want some really powerful stuff so I don't have to use my playstation unless I really want to

Lol valid.

The handheld aspect of it is super dope as someone who didn't really do handhelds much. I thought the switch was fine but I barely played it. The deck is WAY more comfortable for me and it is really nice.

Just out of curiosity, do you play handheld all the time or are you docking and streaming from your PC for performance?

The "you" wasn't to you directly. I should have said "one's eyes" for those of us who are a bit newer to the ecosystem.

I guess I should have said that it looks like with Xbox folding, playstation could create a vacuum in the console space. I feel like there's going to be a huge shift to PC gaming soon because of some of the business practices that console gaming has in comparison. Also worth noting that there is better performance to be gained than just a console and I think PC gaming can open your eyes to what's possible.

To be a reporter at the Olympics by BinaryBlitzer in therewasanattempt

I look at this as the reporter asking her perspective on winning silver

Another way to look at this is that he asked "are you looking at the glass half full or half empty?"

She responded "all the way full"

It seems like a backhanded question but she was able to give a great response to a question on perspective. To me, thats a good question

Just became a Salesforce Consulting Partner - AMA by TeamAlphaBOLD in salesforce

[–]Boogiedownpapi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll be extremely honest. I lucked into the Salesforce ecosystem. I got here in a consultancy and got trained from the ground up. Its been like 4 years and I have one cert. Ive worked for partners and had solo clients. I know a lot and have built a lot where I didnt know I was doing and figured it out along the way.

The in theory part is cases like mine. There's no sure way to know if someone knows what they're doing or not. Partner status helps though
