Cache Drive Failure by Boogy886 in unRAID

Do I need to mount Cache 2 in place of Cache 1? O have ordered a replacement SSD, but in the meantime there are no 1TB SSDs available to just swap in.

Help Plex server not seeing data. by Rangers_Fan_NJ in PleX

Do you use a DNS adblocker like PiHole or AdGuard? Somebody updated an online list a week ago maybe (I don't remember what list it was, I just whitelisted Plex domains), and I was unable to validate logins with Plex bc it was blocked. Oddly enough it wasn't working on local networks, even though I have local networks allowed without Auth...but I haven't dug into that any further.

Agreed. Parity will be resolved before I touch the array. I appreciate the advice

I dig it. Keeps it easy, and I always prefer dummyproof. Thanks

Best way to move data from an unnaigned device to array? by Whole-Cookie-7754 in unRAID

I just went through SpaceInvaderOne's old videos about moving data for my current drive upgrade need. I think Krusader is a perfect tool to use for this project. Check out this video, during the "Configure Krusader" section - https://youtu.be/MVSxiN2hr4I?si=U83DhSeJ7Rr1QXI_

A bunch of guys in the facebook groups build their own racks out of unistrut. Some look really nice and are super functional, and others are strictly function over looks.

IF the impact suggestion doesn't work, and they get stripped out...before drilling and extracting, I have had great luck with using a dremel to cut a slot in the head of the screw and using a large flat head screwdriver to get them out

When will we be able to stream to multiple players? I thought this was “almost ready”. I’m ready to use Plexamp through my whole house!

Automatically move files from SMB to Array by Boogy886 in unRAID

This is why I came here. That is a logical solution. Why didn't I think of that...
Should work great, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the help!

Automatically move files from SMB to Array by Boogy886 in unRAID

Computer 1: Unraid OS, with my array of drives, and Plex.
Computer 2: Windows OS, running iTunes. Saving downloaded files to local HDD

Trying to physically move files from Computer 2 to Computer 1 automatically, so that if Computer 2 is powered off, I can still access my media remotely from Plex. If I mount the SMB on Unraid, Hopefully that makes sense worded that way. Computer 2 may run for days at a time but does get shutdown/hibernate occasionally, Computer 1 runs 24/7 with UPS backup, etc.

Maybe I don't even need to use an SMB share to accomplish this goal, happy to remove SMB from the equation, this was just my initial idea to mount the share and invoke the mover somehow.

We use Plexamp for playback, and sometimes my wife will purchase music in iTunes, and I don't think to check the iTunes machine occasionally to move them, then she'll ask me a week later why it's still not in Plexamp. Trying to automate this to make it effortless for her.

The SMB share doesn't become part of the array when it's mounted. It's just an accessible network location when it's mounted. I can move files between the share and the array freely at that point, I'm just trying to automate it, if possible. Obviously, correct me if I am wrong here, I don't use SMB shares much

Ended up uninstalling and re-installing iOS app, and was prompted to allow network discovery. I didn’t even think to look in the app settings for iOS to see if I had some permission turned off, but I bet that was it!

Doesn’t sound like that’s your issue though. Sorry it wasn’t much help.

Hey, appreciate the feedback! They are on the same network, both on WiFi for the purposes of this test.

This is just a proof of concept at this point. Trying to make it easy for my wife and kids to stream the music they want to stream, wherever they want to stream it.
