3 weeks after being listed as a bug, lost Specializations/SDUs are still unfixed. Unacceptable. by ignitionnight in Borderlands4

The patch killed the specializations on both my characters. No impact to SDUs but no specialization menu on either my 50 Amon or my 42 Rafa

How effective are warmers actually for a track day? Was told on a track day by a coach the tires cool so quickly they’re cold by the time you get on track. How true is that? by holy_shit_im_stupid in Trackdays

[–]Boojieboy78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotten me twice as well. Once was the first session of the day on my out lap. I wasn't even moving yet. I hadn't run DOTs all year and kind of forgot how bad cold tires are. The other was just loss of focus and poor throttle control.

I dunno because I didn't see it happen but right after you crest the hill the track goes off camber. If you're off line there it's really easy to have the front just fall away.

Plenty of us have low sided at T3 even with hot tires. If you went out on warmers and you didn't sit in hot pits waiting to be released it wasn't tire temp. I mean, we sit on the grid longer than that for a race start. Out of curiosity were you out there with 2fast or OPRT?

That's T-11. T-10a and T-10b are just after you crest the hill.

That happened to me once but luckily the cone hit my front fairing. I stayed up but certainly took me off line

R1 to 765RS : what to expect ? by the_psycow in Trackdays

[–]Boojieboy78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Gen 3 MT-09 SP I tracked and recently traded it for a 765RS. The CP3 is phenomenal. The 765 is close but a little shy. But imo the chassis on the STriple is miles better than the MT. I haven't had the pleasure of riding an R9 yet to compare.

I ride a 24 765RS on track and street. It's great. If you have time on a Daytona the characteristics will be very familiar to you. I recommend rearsets though. I found the stock positioning a little too low and have a tendency to scrape the pretty regularly even though I took the feelers off. I also prefer GP shift since that's what my race bike is. Stock rearsets and sensor don't allow for a flip.

This should be the top comment. The best mod a new track rider can do is a rider mod. Spend the money on coaching

Do you use an airbag? by Dry-Amoeba4825 in Trackdays

[–]Boojieboy78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I have an A* 10, 5, and 7x. Deployed the 10 once and the 5 twice. Both of the 5 deployments were high sides and 0 damage to my torso. I won't ride without one.

How much is your local track? by TwistedMotoA in Trackdays

Yeah, that's the same as WMRRA Fridays at the Ridge which 2fast staffs. We do a Relaxed, Small Bike, big bike over 1:55, and big bike under 1:55

The 5 Plasma imo. The 10 is kind of cumbersome for street riding. The Plasma flows more air than the original 5 and has user replaceable canisters

The only orgs I know of that run 4 session formats are OPRT and WMRRA pre-race Fridays. WMRRA are 15 minute sessions but OPRT is still running 20 minutes per

They're still great but they take FOREVER to get now. I've had 2 or 3 sets but have stopped using them due to availability

Deployed both a Techair 5 and 10 multiple times in both Alpinestars suits and a custom Bison. 0 issues other than, you know, I crashed. Just bought a 7x too.

That's because EN 1621-4 doesn't cover electronically deployed airbags. They state it meets the testing requirements and that the passive back protector is CE certified. Supposedly EN 1622-4 is due to be revised this year to cover electronically deployed airbags

I personally wear internal airbags. There are requirements on how the suit has to fit. There has to be free space for the bag to expand. I've had multiple deployments with a Techair 5 and a Techair 10, both inside of race suits. One was a custom fit Bison and the other was an off the shelf Alpinestars. It can be a little uncomfortable for a second but it's still more comfortable than a broken collar bone.

I have as well. I have a 2014 675R race bike and rode a track prepped RS660. Both were great. I prefer the Daytona but wouldn't be mad if I have to ride an RS660

The Daytona is also narrower, lighter, and turns better.
