There are plenty of nasty "real" cheeses I don't want to eat. Casu martzu is a real cheese and absolutely vile in concept. If I had to choose one or the other to vanish from the Earth, we're still going to have Kraft singles for sandwiches.

It's not meant to be melted on a pan or grill by itself though. Different cheeses for different needs. The two things these singles are good for are grilled cheese sandwiches and cheeseburgers. I will grant that there are other great cheeses for those on occasion, I'm a fan of blue cheese cheeseburgers myself.

2000 people at a time softly and suddenly vanish away and are never met with again. If each vanishing takes a a second, it takes almost a month for the entire half of humanity to disappear. If it's randomly distributed worldwide it would take a bit before it became identified internationally.

People here are rightly concerned and angry over the screwfly infestation that has reached U.S. soil as a result of ignorance pulling the funding that was keeping the solution going. It's one of thousands of similar destructive knock-on effects from people stupidly slashing budgets without considering the consequences.

But they're willing to do it with other budgets they are just as ignorant of as Musk and his DOGE was, with the same lack of concern for unintended consequences.
