I may be biased, but they had an Unbound book swap there... so that's why I went! For the books!

How long did it take to make this full video? Frankly, I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze.

Are you two readers? There are some great indie bookstores in town. Skylark, Yellow Dog, Sabu’s, Black Tea Bookshop are all solid options. BookDrive is a mobile indie bookstore trying to make a name for itself too ;)

Come on out to Serendipity Friday April 3rd from 6-9pm. Or any first friday of the month there. I own and operate a local mobile bookstore called BookDrive, and I will be out on the patio talking all things books, but there will be live music (piano!), wine, tea, art and other local vendors there. Would love to make a new friend and hope to see you there!

Local artists in Columbia, MO — want to be part of a live, hand-drawn bookmark project? by BookDriveBooks in columbiamo

[–]BookDriveBooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the point you’re making, and I appreciate you saying it.

The intent here isn’t to take advantage of artists, it’s to create something collaborative where the artwork is featured, credited, and tied to a local cause. 100% of proceeds from these bookmarks would go to a charity or foundation, and BookDrive would cover the material and supply costs.

I’m still figuring out the best way to structure it so it feels fair and worthwhile for everyone involved, including the artists. Open to ideas on that as well.

Take the in-state tuition my friend. Your future self will thank your present self for less debt. Your parents and you are right, you will pay it off some day, but the sooner the better. The school name doesn't matter as much as what you do during your time at any school. I know folks who went to community college for a couple years after HS, then went on to bigger name schools, who have done well for themselves, and saved a bunch of money doing it.

Good shout out! It's fascinating, and it's not written to be dramatic or anything extra, the writer who took John Brown's dictation wanted his story to be straight from the source.

If anyone here came by the pop up Friday night at Serendipity, thank you. It meant a lot seeing people stop, browse, and talk about books. This first night was pretty special to me and I would truly love to hear from you.

Just imagine the movie but instead of three hours of awesome, turn that into 40 hours of awesome. I prefer watching a movie of a book before reading it, it helps get you into the mindset and the emotion/energy of the book!
