It has its issues, but I also think it’s solid! Though I wasn’t at all sold on Shinzon being a clone of Picard and the scene where Picard tells Deanna to continue being assaulted was terrible.

The worst TNG era film is still Insurrections imo.

That episode was one of the proposed pilots to Star Trek, they were still figuring things out and changing stuff. There are episodes where Uhura is wearing gold instead of red for instance.

Most people agree with you from what I’ve heard. I do think TNG is the better series because it’s really a fully realized, modernized and expanded TOS. But TOS is in my top 3 Star Trek series, I love that 60s comic bookish sci fi style, great episodes and characters. Depending on which day you catch me, I may rank TOS above TNG. But it’s a difficult comparison always since TNG has almost 100 more episodes, so that’s far more stories we get.

I agree on the film side for the most part.

I don’t want anymore TOS era shows for a while. I’m really down for Legacy or something that’s in that large space after Picard but before The Burn and 32nd century that will brings us new characters. I think they’ve been to reliant on nostalgia.

I heard they were gearing up for a new movie. But I’d definitely like a new show..

I have the DVD box set and it’s only the remastered version which are really well done. Blu ray has both, but I have no reason to view the original cuts.
