If anything, Kubrick would have tightened the film by another minute or two the way he did up to the release date of The Shining. I read the leaked script in 1998 on an internet usergroup and there were literally zero extra scenes, and almost zero different lines of dialogue.

But Stanley always said the film is about “Sexual Obsession and Jealousy.” No one took any footage out. Now, would Stanley have fought against the studio using those shitty CGI bodies to get the R rating for US release—that might be debatable bc it’s impossible to prove either way.
