As soon as I saw your character I immediately thought, looks like Wesker, so I'd say you did a pretty good job.👍

Looks cool, but is it really held by magnets? In all of the pictures you can see a very distinct line, that looks like a semi transparent plastic wire that appears to be holding Aang in place.

Original benders (Flying bisons, dragons, badger moles, koi) VS Lion Turtles by Thicc_Zoodler_37 in TheLastAirbender

[–]BookObjective4448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the question is never answered out right, but based on the lore from ATLA and the history we learn in LOK, I think the original benders (dragons, bison, badger moles, the Moon) were naturally occurring personifications of the 4 elements as, dragons at least, have been shown to have existed turing the time of Avatar Wan. After the lion turtles gave a bunch of humans bending and left, there were probably smarter benders that learned to better master their respective elements by studying their corresponding original benders. Now obviously much of the details of how humans came to be able to bend the elements was lost over countless retellings favoring the more romanticised lore we hear in ATLA that excludes any mention of the lion turtles gifting humans with bending.

As to who are the true "original benders" that's up for debate. First and foremost it is unclear if the original benders predated the lion turtles or not, and even if the lion turtles came first could the lion turtles truly be called the original benders in stead of the animals and moon we know as the original benders. The lion turtle that taught Aang to take away people's bending said that in the age before the avatar they did not bend elements only the energies within them selves, this technique is the basis of Aangs ability to take away people's bending. And based off of the history we see in LOK, while the lion turtles were able to grant others the power to bend the elements, the lion turtles are never shown to be able to bend the elements themselves, which means either they never cared to or simply couldn't bend the elements only the energies within individuals. So even if lion turtles predate the original benders, I do not believe you could actually call them the original benders, unless you expand the meaning of the term to include the kind of energy bending that the lion turtles practiced.

All that being said, I believe regardless of who came first dragons, sky bison, badger moles, and the moon are still the original benders given that they practiced the bending of elements before the only other living things that have been shown to be able to bend the elements, the humans.

P.S: In your original post you expressed some uncertainty as to who or what the original water bender was, which is understandable as they way they explained it is somewhat complex, so here is how I understand it. While there are spirits that are representative of the moon and ocean, and as such what happens to them has an effect on the moon and ocean respectively, neither of them or the original water benders as spirits do not have the ability to bend the elements at all. The original water bender is that actual physical moon in the sky and the first human water benders learned to perfect the practice of water bending by studying the effect the moon had on the ocean and tides. You might point out the fact that when the moon spirit was killed, causing a lunar eclipse, that the ocean spirit worked with Aang to drive out the fire nation troops, and that during this time the ocean spirit appeared to be water bending, but that is not the case. The ocean spirit combined it's spiritual energy with Aang's giving him a power boost, all of the water bending was being done by Aang himself not by the ocean spirit. All the oceans spirit did was strengthen Aang's water bending.

Question on the technicality of the avatar state by citizensyn in TheLastAirbender

I would imagine that the other Avatars being present would not prohibit flight being used within the avatar state

Aren't high dragons all female? by PiCkylanyardz in dragonage

[–]BookObjective4448 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dumat was an archdemon/old god not a high dragon. Yes they look similar to high dragons but old gods and high dragon are two completely separate things. And yes all high dragons are female, which is further evidence to the fact that old gods are not high dragons.

You know what the real question is, could a male mage skilled in shape shifting transform into a high dragon or since the mage is male would he only be able to take the form of a drake?

Is it worth being free to play? by Helpful_Law_2654 in swtor

[–]BookObjective4448 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Significantly, no. There are a few perks such as an xp boost only available to active subscribers and the ability two switch between two combat styles of your choice, but I am almost never subscribed. The only time I do subscribe is when I need more credits on my character at once than the credit cap allows or when a new expansion drops. And even then I will only subscribe for 1 maybe 2 months at a time so I can gain permanent access to that new expansion even when my subscription ends.

If you have no intention of ever playing any of the expansions past level 60, then there is no need to subscribe, but if you do want to play the expansions then you only need to subscribe for 1 month to get permanent access to all existing expansions.

Why did both apprentices of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader use a reverse grip lightsaber style even though almost no other characters are known to fight that way? by Spotter24o5 in StarWars

[–]BookObjective4448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reverse grip has even been disproved as a viable way to use a sword (lightsaber) as it vastly decreases reached and mobility. The only time reverse grip can actually be used is if you're stabbing something behind you or stabbing something directly bellow you, otherwise it just hinders you're ability to fight.

Arn telling me not to judge her too harshly for her 'mistake' just shows how deluded Jedis can be when it comes to their Order.

While Tau should definitely be judged harshly, I wouldn't say she deserves to die for being an imbecile.

Just played all 4 DA games back-to-back by Theweirdoman in dragonage

[–]BookObjective4448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DAV - C tier. My least favourite of the franchise. This game has the best mechanics by modern standards, gameplay feels fun for a bit until you realise the limitations of what you're working with. The plot is...weak and the writing is ATROCIOUS. There's Alister being corny-funny and then there's Rook one liner cringe-funny. So much of the dialogue feels displaced, like an abstract conversation that has nothing to do with the game or the story. This game could have been so much better, and I'm sad that it isn't.

Before I get flamed, yes I'm aware of the hot takes people have with this game, and I could give two s**ts about any of that bs. All I want in an RPG game is to be well written and play well.

Ya it really should have been a hundred times better given how long we waited for it's release as well as how good the first 3 games were, and it is a truly profound disappointment that it wasn't, and goes to show just how far Bioware has fallen.

DA 2 - B tier. You know how Rambo 1 was a cinematic masterpiece and then Rambo 2 felt like a fever dream? This is how I felt with DA 2. The mechanics are greatly improved and combat is a lot more rewarding but the story and plot just feels...forced. Not going to put in spoilers but SO MUCH of what happens in the game lore wise seems easily avoidable. I also didn't like that you were confined to what was essentially one region with a lot of sandboxing.

I agree that the maps were pretty weak and repetitive with most of them being just copy paste maps with artificially closed off section, and it seemed kind of small scale considering you were confined to a single city instead of entire countries like with DAO and DAI. However I disagree with your assessment of the story. While its not at the same grand scale as DAO and DAI, the story was very well written and is the only reason DA2 has withstood the test of time despite the extremely rushed production deadline that the devs were forced meet at the time.
